Fox 2.0 Installers and UCA Questions

Hi everyone - I am planning to purchase the Fox 2.0 Stage 1 Suspension Package from @Stage3Motorsports for my 2020 Lariat FX4. I have a couple of questions:

1) Does anyone know of any good shops in the Denver area you would recommend for installation? I don't have a garage or anything like that to do it myself.

2) Would you also recommend purchasing new UCAs as well? I know there are multiple threads around this question and I still don't think I have a clear answer. I don't plan to do any rock crawling, but just more driving on Forest Service roads, finding dispersed camping spots, and driving on some mountain passes. I am also currently running 265/70/17LT tires, so I am not concerned at the moment with fitting bigger tires.

I had the Ford dealership do it. They charged me about 400$ and everything went fine. I don’t have upgraded UCA’s and don’t see the need if you arnt lifting more or throwing on 34’s. Btw the upgrade from the FX4 was a very good one, highly recommend.

4 Wheel Parts over toward DIA did a good job on mine. Was about $500 with alignment for fronts. Did the rears myself.

I did them in my driveway with 5 wrenches and 3 sockets a jack and two jackstands I have 41K miles on the truck and everything was rusty as f. The hardest part is not separating the CV, so you'll need a 36mm socket to remove the axle nut. I got an alignment for 90$ and it was all good. The UCA's aren't needed if you leave it at the 2" height, so I would skip those if I were you.

We did the front shocks in my sons F150 recently. Instead of taking the route most do, CV nut one we took the other path and it’s far simpler and faster. Mark the position of the camber adjusters by scribing lines or white grease marker on lower control arm. Drop tie rods and sway bar links. Then the lower control arm fasteners. Shocks drop right out. 30 minutes a side and never broke a sweat! Ranger should be no different when I get my new shocks.

If you do it like he lays out here you will not worry about your axels popping out unless you do something drastically wrong. You would really have to try to F%^& it up to make that happen.

To add on to his post, you'll need to get an alignment anyway and the camber bolts that you marked and put back in the same spot are the ones the alignment shop will have to move so it's not critical that you get them exact on the reinstall.

UCA will not be needed for the Fox 2.0 as long as you don't go jackin with the coil overs and try setting it up as high as possible.

I have the Ford Performance version of the Foxes, I like them a lot and I do about the same stuff you are planning on. If I was going to go more hardcore offroad I'd go for the OME kit.

Even on FS roads ( some can be quite rough ) if you'll be doing some miles and not just a few minutes let some air out of your tires to say about 25PSI, It'll ride like butter. Don't forget to air back up when you get back to the street.

I skipped UCAs. Didn't need them personally.

I have my eibach struts set to 3” on stock springs. Think I’m ok with stock UCAs for minor off roading?

They aren’t so much off roading as they allow better geometry for alignment.

Yeah, I'm finding that most shops here are a month out as well. Let me know which location you went to and if it went well! I might be scheduling with them too.

I went with 4WP in Wheat Ridge. Only took them 3 hours and I only waited a week for an appointment.
I’m digging the look so far! Next step is 33s!!
