Up to you what you want really.
I disabled the key in ignition door chime
Seat belt reminder for both passenger and driver.
Blinker on fog light for that side turns on. Also turns on with steering angle at night. Dont remember what the feature is called. And really does not light up a dark corner.
And the bronco splash screen
Cool! The chimes and warning don't bother me. I know what you're talking about with the fog on with blinker, my 80's Vette did something similar. The Bronco screen is the sharpest one, but most of the people I work with think I have a lowered Raptor, LOL! Plus, I found a small Black 4" Raptor emblem that I ordered :)

The brake pedal felt different when I stopped at the first red light, but I guess I've gotten used to it already, as nothing felt different after that initial stop

I drove it to the store earlier and nothing was acting weird or anything. As I was driving, I remembered something else I changed and was going to update it here, but guess what? I completely forgot, LOL!

EDIT: I did change the courtesy wipe to the #2 setting.

My original post was almost 3 years ago - that was before FORScan had much in the way of these "predefined" options - everything pretty much had to be done inputting the individual codes.

FORScan has come a long way in 3 years.

Hello everyone,

I recently picked up my 22 Ford Ranger, and the Auto Start Stop is quite annoying. I saw in the Wiki that I can disable it using FORSCAN so I bought the OBDLink Adapter and downloaded the software.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but nowhere can I find a how to get started using FORSCAN.

I have it plugged in, it ran what I assume is its diagnostics then according to the Wiki it says the setting is in BdyCM, so I tried to "open" that but I got nothing. Then after watching a few videos on youtube it says I need to hit the play button in the lower right so I did, but it says I need the extended license.

I have no issue purchasing the extended license, I just want to make sure I'm on the right track.

Would anyone be willing to just type a guide on how to just "get started" like how to start making the changes outlined in the wiki?

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Similarly, is there anyway to save the factory settings before I start messing with things so if I make a mistake I can just revert back to it?

When you connect to your truck and start the process, Forscan will prompt you to save the profile. Do this before making any changes.

As for ASS, I believe its under the BCM module. Give me 5 and I will check it.

This is (I think) a really good tutorial on how to use FORScan - he is using it on an F-150, but the concept is identical and many things can be tweaked the same on both the Ranger and the F-150s.

Major word of advice, just saving the profile does NOT save any of your original settings. To do this you need to open each module asbuilt file and do a save to create a backup file on your harddrive. It is advisable to come up with a naming convention for these backup files so you know which module they are for and what version they are for so you can keep additional backups as you make changes. These backups form a history of your changes.

You at least need the free 2 month license to write/make changes to anything.

Yes with Forscan you need to register on the website. It takes a few days but you can get the two month code to unlock all the features. I got the lifetime license myself. It’s worth every cent. Use it on all my kids cars too.
