I'm stupid paranoid, I check my oil when I pick the truck up at the dealer. I did the blended for the first 3/4 changes, now, only synth.
Mine always looked kinda dark(blended), always wondered if they changed it but after a few 1000 km, it's dirty, not dark. Check when u pick it up, make sure they actually put oil & did not forget....

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I will check the filter and for other evidence. I was thinking it should be pretty clean still. If I can’t tell for sure, I’ll just do a change myself. Haven’t done one on this vehicle so I should learn that anyway.
I mark my oil filter on the end with a sharpie, that way I know if the filter was changed.

And I do love me some rum, the good stuff though, not the stuff you have to add sugary soda to in order to make it palatable...
not to derail the thread but im not much of a drinker anymore. but down in the bayou they take smokey sugar cane and satsuma oranges and let it age in oak bourbon barrels. its unique. i would not say its the best rum ever. but worth trying.

I use Rotella full syn. Very light in color. At 3000 miles, it definitely is not dark brown in color. I change at 10k or less, and then it is dark brown. Smells old, but no fuel smell. After all, it's a 2019 )
A look at the oil filter drain would show if it was done. Or just look at the shiny filter.
Doesn't Rotella contain alit of zinc? Not supposed to be great for catalytic converters I understand.

if you don't have an oil burner shouldn't be an issue, I used it for yrs in my Saab 9-5 but it called for 5w-40 , whereas Ranger is 5w-30 recommended.

OK... I just wouldn't use diesel specific oil on a gas vehicle with cats....

Diesel have many more exhaust clogging emissions devices than we have now as well. I am sure oil spec changed for that. Rotella is typically cutting edge for diesel requirements. But do your own homework before your cat clogs up.

i used Rotella in all my old Cummins diesels. They loved it. Like a happy sailor and rum...
I did the same in my Freightliner.

link to an article regards motor oil and additives, near the bottom is a chart that shows content, zinc in found in diesel rotella isn't a whole lot higher than some gas engine oils. Zinc is an effective anti-wear additive.

https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1...-bottle-of-oil-really-does-make-a-difference/
ZDDP (essentially zinc/phosphorus} is the issue & Rotella is much higher.
Helpful for my 427 Galaxie but not for my Ecoboost.....
Use whatever floats your boat.
