Sid, reach under the right side of the glove box, nearest the kick panel. The damper is white with a string. There is enough slack to undo the loop at the end from the stud on the glovebox
Thanks Dale :like:

No problem, Phil!

Forums and YouTube were a great asset to me and my '03 Focus (RIP). Loving this Ranger community we've built here.

For those of you have changed them, whats the likely interval? My previous car needed the cabin filter changed more often than recommended.

I changed mine at 15k miles. As bad as mine was, I'd probably recommend 10k intervals, but YMMV.

10k intervals going forward for me

Mine had a lot of debris at 12.5k (quite a few off road trips though)

Just changed mine with one from Auto Zone, next time will go with the Purolator

I can agree to Langley carbon filter just to get more odors out of the air. I haven't checked with my parts manager to see if Ford offers that yet but I could try finding out later. As for intervals of wind to change it Ford recommends 20,000 miles. I myself do it every 15,000 just because I'm used to it with my old 2016 Nissan Frontier used to have. That's just my personal preference. Also something I noticed when I was messing with cabin filters on my old Frontier is that the factory cabin filter seem to do a better job compared to aftermarket filters was catching oders on just a regular type. I can't say for carbon filters just because I haven't dealt with them yet.

I plan on getting one from K&N when they come up with one. Had one in my Kia Soul and would clean and recharge it every 10,000 miles.

No damper cord/assembly to be found on my truck... 2019 model year but uncertain of build date. Just had to squeeze in at the left and right hand sides to get the tabs to clear where they usually rest while glovebox is open.

So when you open your glove box it just drops? Interesting

It drops to a normal open position where it rests on plastic tabs without a damper cord. I looked around in there it's just simply not there...

That is unfortunate, I suppose they forgot it or we found another thing Ford cheaped out on
