I also went with the 265/70R17 but I chose the BFGs.

I really like the look of your tires. I also like that they go on the OEM wheels and no lift or level required. It won’t happen for a few years, but I am pretty sure these will be my replacement tires.

Truck looks fantastic! Just want to confirm you are running 275/70/17 and you have no rubbing, didn’t need spacers or remove the crash bars?

2019 2WD XLT Sport

LT275/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W (6 Ply)
Rough Country 2.5 Leveling Kit
N-Fab Epyx Series Step Bara
And an alignment in a pear tree...

Rides/drives better than OE, looks great (in my humble and very biased opinion) and really ended up exactly how I wanted it. Absolutely no rubbing and required no spacers.

Orlando Tire and Wheel in Orlando, Florida (ask for Hector) did the work and did it well.

Thanks!

I’m running Nitto Ridge Grapplers 255/80r17 on factory STX rims. Just over 33” tall with zero rub full lock driving forward or backwards.

HTX - are you running these without any lift/spacers/crash bar mods?

No spacers. FabTech 2.5” leveling kit. I took off the crash bars due to new bumper not because of tire rub at full lock. Zero rub with the crash bars on pre-install of new bumper. I put them on after the leveling kit so I cannot comment on fitment completely stock.

Does the FX4 have the same ground/tire clearance as a regular sport 4x4?
Was wondering this too. According to Car & Driver's review of the 2019 Ranger, it does not add any extra ground clearance.
"Even though the FX4 suspension doesn't raise the 4x4 Ranger's ride height, its standard 8.9 inches of ground clearance and the off-road package's skid plates—Ford calls the front one a "bash plate," which is awesome—make trail work and boulder humping easy."

I've read through this thread and don't really see a definitive answer. To be clear, I don't have a driving desire to install bigger tires for looks or ground clearance.

So, my truck has 255/65r17. I'm buying used 265/65r17, mostly for the wheels. The plan is to have good all around tires along with a set of dedicated winter tires. And, I'll buy a steel 17" wheel and put the same size tire on it for a spare. All the stock wheels are magnetic.

I'm looking at 265/70r17 mostly because there's a lot more to choose from (I don't know, that may be a bad thing!). I see where many are using them without issue.

My question is, has anyone actually put this size tires through the paces? Hard cornering on pavement, loaded truck, put the suspension through full range of movement, compressed and turned to lock, that sort of thing.

I've read where folks are installing them, taking all sorts of pictures and driving down the road, but that doesn't really tell the whole story.

Sounds good to me then. Looking at either 265/70/17 or 255/75/17 for my sport, both of which fit on the FX4 according to comments in this thread.

While it's not the same size, my 255/75R17 are slightly taller by 1/2" and narrower by 1/2" and some 235/85R16 winters which are same height as your but 1" narrower...I don't personally think enough to make a difference since it's damn close. Worst case, you'll have to push your crash bars forward but doubtful. I've put mine to the paces, have not hit the Rubicon mind you, but pretty wide range of circumstances for a truck, lots of dirtbike trips loaded down, hauled Airstream 3,000 miles some with moto in back, snow, gravel, city, road trips, etc. I've never hit the tires on any part of fenders in 25,000 miles.....ever. Handles fine, it's a truck, never had any issues with how it handles, it's sporty for a rig of this type.

I'd really like to put a OME lift on it to stiffen it up just a bit when hauling / towing, but overall, love the handling & ride.

So I want to purchase 17 in wheels. Truck came with 18 in and I prefer the smaller wheel more tire look. Can someone tell me what the - offset would do for me.

Oops see below for wheel sizes
