Sounds a bit like this tracking device I found on mine, it was mounted under the dash near the ODB

Greg, this just might be the culprit - they squawk when the battery is low to alert the dealer to change the battery. Look under your dash for it zip-tied in place and spliced into your wiring harness or fuse box. It might also be hidden in your engine bay somewhere.

I’m curious what the auto manufacturer’s warranty folks have to say about these aftermarket devices.

Do they drain our batteries enough to affect their life and warranty? Does splicing these into wiring harnesses impact our warranty when it comes to electrical issues? I wonder. ?

And this is what? Did Ford install it? Give us the background here please.
Apparently installed by the dealer to track their vehicles. It is a cellular device that has a sim card and battery that can transmit location. Wired into power and are sometimes left in the vehicle when sold. Mine made random beeping noises at different times.

Some but not all GE larger appliances are made in Louisville Ky. at Appliance Park, (my employer for a few years) by IUE represented workers. I think some are made in Georgia at what used to be a Roper plant. There are some other plants too , I think. The appliance division is mostly awned by a Chinese co.:frown:

GE Appliances is an American home appliance manufacturer based in Louisville, Kentucky. It has been majority owned by Chinese multinational home appliances company Haier since 2016.
Assembled in Louisville from foreign and domestic parts. Same as all US made vehicles.

Did you buy your truck used? Just curious. I think that is pretty common for used dealers. But haven't read about it with new.

I assume you trashed the thing?

Yes it was used from a Ford dealer. It went into the recycle bin.

good thing I bought them in 2010 and only have replaced water inlet solenoid on the washer
I guess the good news is that they are still made in America and they have been investing in the plant and hiring more people. Even when I worked there in the late 80s there were threats by GE that they were either going to close or sell the appliance business. Of course that talk always ramped up around contract negotiation time. I bailed in 1989 and went to Ford KTP for more money, better job and more security. One of my best employment decisions.

Of course the bad news is the foreign ownership. The same applies to Dodge/Ram (Stellantis) and so many other products that have traditional US corporate names but are not US owned.

Where I'm at now waves the american flag so high but also at the same threatens to sell foreign. make up my mind. we can't forget the twinkie is no longer 'Murican:crying: way to go Baker's Union

I was at german owned company that was proud of being 125 years old but always left out the years in the teens and late 30's early 40's for some reason... they pushed the PC stuff like they were trying to make up for something

Tonight came home and about 20 minutes later happened to walk out in garage and heard a strange sad beeping coming from engine bay. Anyone else heard this?

I recorded a short video to hear it.
Sounds like the engine cover mouse colony is playing touch football and a referee mouse is blowing a whistle?

That is a very odd sound!

I bought this truck new and now that folks are mentioning it, I do remember that it came with LoJack installed. That must be it. I just downloaded the app and logged in and looks like they gave me a 3 year subscription.

No idea where the unit is installed. The sound has stopped now but it was definitely somewhere under the hood and not inside. Guess I won’t worry about it unless it starts up again.

True but I wouldn't move over just this one instance. Besides my Ranger is always parked in the garage and I never go into sketchy areas although Safeway is right in town but whatever I'm always carrying.

We're planning on moving for several reasons and I think you've seen my past posts on why. :lipssealed:
I left AZ last week for some of those reasons. Back to the great white north. Actually quite pleased.

And have you seen the movie speed? Probably just your standard speed sensitive bomb.
