I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with this one. I've been hearing a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay for a few months now. I attached a short video here.

-It seemed to start around the time I cleaned off my engine bay with water & de-greaser at the car wash
-I happens about 80% of the time with varying degrees of loudness. I'm not certain on what factors affect this, although it seems worse more on cold mornings/winter.
-It happens when I press the gas and seems to vary with RPM
-I took it to Ford last week, they said it was a failing High Pressure Fuel Pump. They replaced it and said the noise was gone. However once I left the Ford parking lot, the noise came back.

I'll be taking it back to Ford again because they did not fix the issue. In the meantime, perhaps there is someone on these forums who has dealt with this as well.

Your dikfer component has become dislodged. Any local dealership should be able to address it if you specifically ask them to inspect the dikfer.
If he needs a new one, he should go with one from Cockford Ollie machining.

But seriously, wasn't there something about transmission gears being straight cut that cause whine? Or is that only when driving and not neutral or park?

Almost sounds like a fan clutch not engaged all the way
That would be my guess based on when it started. A friend hitting the gas and a stethoscope might help track it down or at least get us closer to where the noise is coming from under the hood.

I got told the same thing, HPFP. It's just so strange that this is a common issue and cant make it go away.

It's the nature of the beast that is HPFP.

I'm still waiting for somebody to explain what dikfer is to me and google is no help. is it engine related? ?
To properly use a dikfer, you need a holfer, but if one is not available, than a good hanfer will do for a temporary fix.
