The Auto Stop Eliminator module remembers the last state that the driver selected for the Auto Start/Stop function. If off is selected, it simulates the driver pressing the button at truck startup. If the driver left it enabled, it won't do anything, so Auto Start/Stop will work. I have this module installed in my truck.

I got to go back to my settings in FORScan that I did 5 years ago. I disabled it. I believe its here.
PSCM module in Forscan change auto start/stop setting to disable and write it. Toggle key switch off and back on. Make sure to save your factory settings first. It's all here on the forum to read.

Definitely didn’t know about using the AC charger in the back to disable ASS. Good to know. I’ll have to convince the wife to try it… Maybe I can find a better way to word it though. I don’t think she’d appreciate me saying “let me plug something in the back and switch your ASS… We’re still talking about trucks, right? 😂

It works, I even cut the cord off because I couldn't use it for anything else anyway. And if you want to undo it, just reach back and unplug it.

Just plug a night light into the plug on the rear of the center console and ASS is defeated. The plug does not remain on after the truck is shut off, so there is no battery drain. I’ve been doing this for 6 years and it’s fool proof and the easiest possible solution.

This is the easiest and best solution. I used it for 6 years on my 2020 Ranger. Buy a LED night light and make sure it is the the type that is on all the time (i.e. not the type that turns on only when dark). If you don't want the illumination in the back seat area, then put electrical tape over it. Unfortunately, this trick is not an option for my 2026 Ranger. I had to purchase the 4D Tech Dumb ASS eliminator.

Dang, those are about $100. I sure miss my free phone charger I had in my '21.

There is a plug at the negative battery connection. Unplug it and no more ASS. This anly works on the Gen5 Rangers. I thought this was common knowledge. I hate to see people have spent big $$ to disable this. I think because this truck was designed in Ausy it was added in the US with a simple switch easy to get to.

It does more than disabling Auto Start/Stop. Disconnecting it will also disable the Battery Management System that controls battery charging and presumably extends battery life and helps fuel economy.

If only ford would have installed something like a switch or button you can push to turn it off:):):):):):)
Yeah...someone already brought that up in the beginning of this post. I'm not pushing a button 10 to 15 times a day. I bought a tuner. Got a better driving truck and it deleted the auto start stop.

I'd rather just plug in a phone charger or a night light. Why mess with the battery system?

Based on the notes that I made of the changes to my truck, it's under the body control module section

Yeah, i double checked, and on Forscan i just did a simple "disabled" option on there once you find the option, and saved my settings. Havent had an issue for the past4 years.
If I had known that I could disable it through Forscan, I would have gotten it as soon as I got the truck in July 2023 instead of this past march
