Did you notice any difference with the Roush filter?
Specifically I couldn’t tell you it did because I put on the Roush CAI, FP exhaust and FP tune all at the same time. However, most of the sound early rpms is the intake. So I’d imagine it’s giving me good air flow all together.

However, I will say the CAI makes the experience much more visceral as it’s quite fun to hear the engine more for me and actually hear when I am stepping down on the throttle. If I were to do a CAI again though, I would get a Mishimoto CAI. Their transparency on the R&D is pretty high and a lot goes into their product. Check it out. It comes with an actual full air box and scoop change. Roush CAI is only top half.

@DukeCanBuildit would be able to give you his review of the Roush CAI if he’s had enough drive time with it.

Hey Jim,

I installed the Roush CAI on the weekend - no tune, stock exhaust, but I also installed the aFe Power Magnum air scoop.

My first impression is that pedal response seems tighter, no lag. It sure seems to jump off the start but I’ve been hitting the pedal pretty hard just to test it out. The biggest difference is in the sound - reminds me of when an older 4-bbl carburetor kicks in. Definitely sounds different - that was a welcome surprise for me. Will have a chance to open it up on some secondary highways this weekend and see if it’s as quick from 50-80 mph as it is from 20-40 mph on city streets. Sure feels like it will be but passing a 53’ trailer and tractor on a two-lane will be the real test.

Oh man Duke... Wait till you hit highway speeds... The roar really comes alive and you feel it, at least with my butt dyno with previous vehicles not as powerful when I put a CAI. I am sure the Ranger with a CAI would be great. Thanks for the review!!

Let us know how it it works! I've been eyeing one!

Installed my Cali Raised ditch light brackets and Dark Defense DD4 lights. They aren't wired yet because I am still waiting on my Trigger Controller 4 Plus. I couldn't wait to put them on though. The GMRS antenna is temporary, as I ordered a bracket to attach it to the ditch light bracket. Hopefully that will be here this week.

That could work in case the rear differential of the EUDM would be the same as the USDM. We do not have Dana axles, the rear diff on our cars does not even have a cover plate, it's just a pan welded to the housing :(.

Got the oil and service change. Decided to break in the new synthetic oil(I think last time I got a normal oil change). First time power braked… by the gods I had the same giggle I had when I first drove the Ranger. Hit 4.94 0-60… took it easy and kept with 1500 rpms but heard 2500
Is the sweet spot. Maybe in the desert I can play around a little with testing times a bit more.

Looks great! Any issue with rubbing? Which spacers did you use? I’ve been thinking about doing the same. Do you feel the difference in the widened stance while driving?
No rubbing, I picked them up from stage 3 motorsports.
I haven't driven it out in the highway yet.

Just a tease for tomorrow.... First dyno pull on a DynoJet tomorrow morning 8 am. E25 test fuel, FP tune, Mishimoto charge pipe kit, Roush CAI, FP exhaust, Turbosmart BOV and AFE air scoop/Velossa Big Mouth(although no running air from moving speeds so doubt these will show on a dyno).

Added to my lights package with a Diode Dynamics Stage Series dual
light bars in orange. With my Baja Designs ditch lights I am done with lights on the front. All lights are wired to aux switches (Tremor) so I still have my bright white fogs and now have orange fogs I can enable in bad weather.

Took it to Ziebart (which is a block from my work) and got it rustproofed. New car smell is back, kind of.

Installed Dawn Enterprises body side moldings from Amazon to help prevent door dings.
  • Packed and padded very well in a reinforced rigid tube to prevent damage or bending.
  • Perfect paint match (White Platinum).
  • Easy install with attached 3M tape.
  • Rigid molding pieces make it easy to get a straight line.

I was looking at those. I have a Cactus Gray truck with black appearance package. Debating getting moldings.... matte black or painted to match. Just something more so to add a little accent because I think my truck looks just a tad plain (really not into pinstripe, so maybe moldings?).
