  1. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

It’s been a while … today I managed to do some 4L offroading with my family, looking for autumn colors:
  2. Torque App

I understand. If you cannot even see it, never mind the pin, that is a secondary step. Some dongles work without PIN, some not. It seems it also depends on the application. For instance I have three of them, one does not work at all with FORD, but it works with other vehicles. The other two...
  3. Torque App

Maybe this helps, or at least you could try it to see if it works for you. In the project I've done for the fake exhaust sound, I've experimented a bit with the OBD2 dongles from a programming point of view. I find the connection to be very unstable. For instance, I can only get a connection to...
  4. Why the level? Why the rake?

“If any” … you may want to rethink that next time you will load something in the bed. The marginal static weight distribution change makes a huge difference dynamically.
  5. Exhaust sound booster

And the adults have spoken :). Yes, there are many, at least in europe. Maxhaust, Miltek, Thor(russian … I understand the quality is very good but because of the current times I would not touch it). I guess maxhust is the one audis use in production.
  6. DIY fake exhaust tone

This post is so idiotic that normally I would not reply to it. This is my own project and I’ve said from the start it will be open source. Learn to read before you pour all the accumulated hate you moron! Anyway, I’ll stop posting here. Probably get banned too, I simply cannot understand why so...
  7. DIY fake exhaust tone

I’ve started working on the rev sound:
  8. DIY fake exhaust tone

Coding is how I earn my living. However, coding an ESP32 is something new to me. Not that different from an Arduino yet tons of challenges. Yesterday, after a week of trying different things I’ve learned that a dacWrite in an ISR is very problematic :).
  9. DIY fake exhaust tone

I know that! However, the NVH requirements are far off. This should sound as if the factory sound is as intended for a gear-head, which makes everything so complex. I want to tune a 4cyl barge to a pleasant small block v8 like sound. Anyway, I am learning a lot in this quest.

    Thanks guys for your support!
  11. DIY fake exhaust tone

First of all, I was not aware of it. Secondly, it's not the same thing, but not bad either. You gave me a good hint, as they seem to offer free sound samples, I will look a bit into those. Thank you!
  12. DIY fake exhaust tone

Hello again! I hope everybody is doing fine, it's been a while since I've last posted on the forum. It's been some busy (crazy) times for my family and me, since. The project is not yet in the scrap bin. I've been changing quite a lot: 1) ESP32 instead of Arduino, dual core processing: one...
  13. In cabin fusebox, engine on only

I am trying to find a source to tap into, only when the engine is running. I know that there is the #19 fuse of the power steering in the engine bay, however I would rather avoid passing one more wire through the firewall if possible. Do you have an idea where I could tap into? It needs to be...
  14. DIY fake exhaust tone

Here is another sample, revving from a 10k potentiometer :). The rev part is very basic for now. That is the volume I plan to run it, it can go higher.
  15. DIY fake exhaust tone

I have limited time to spend on this one, and I do things in a hurry. However, I’ve made some progress on the prototype. Two dog pots, stainless, aluminium baffle. The port was supposed to be welded on, as I do not have a TIG welder (yet) I burned thgough easily :(. For now it’s a plumbing pipe...
  16. DIY fake exhaust tone

Well, simpler, less expensive is my quest, that’s why I am even struggling here. The aftermarket industry is selling such a device for 1k+ EUR, and for good reason. OEMs are slashing down v8s, soon they will v6s too. Ford claims 2035 will be EVs only. Manufacturers have already added these...
  17. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Sometimes you park like that, because in the next spot there’s already a bad parking car/person. At least in my case there was, no idea why the Raptor was like that, could have been for the same reason.
  18. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Regular shopping with my 6y son, parked next to a Raptor. I thought you guys want to see another one. It’s difficult to park them over here :(.
  19. DIY fake exhaust tone

Thank you for your support! I am not even half way through, everything is sitting on my workbench, the speaker is not even ordered and you already know it will turn out like crap! Maybe you have a crystal ball.
