2021 order time frame?

It sounds (based on other postings here) that Jeep/FCA/Stellantis (whatever they are called this week) may be doing a better job of prioritizing customer orders over dealer stock, but there have been some on here that have gotten their orders relatively quickly - others not so much. My guess is that it is either someone being the squeaky wheel or just the luck of he draw. I'm not so sure Ford's systems are doing a great job of prioritizing orders in an equitable fashion.

I hope you get some info, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot less than a month after you ordered. Do you have a VIN yet? That is about all I would expect in that timeframe.

9/20 after reading here I asked again about the vin and was told about a month after order(At this point I felt this guy is an idiot)
9/24 I asked if the order was sent to ford, and told yes.
10/1 Asked if ford received the order, and was simply told "We sent the order".

Asked again back on the 15th, was told "it takes a couple month"... Like whats going on with my order asshat(the salesman)... I know it takes a few months from order-to deliver but what is the status of the order itself.

Is ford scheduling it or not. And no, no VIN yet. Sales manager is dodging my calls and emails too.

Yea, it sounds like your dealer isn't doing their job. When I ordered mine, I was shocked at how many dealers really didn't want to order a vehicle. I thought they would all jump at the chance because it is pretty much an easy sale, but my experience was quite the opposite. I was lucky to find a small dealer who was very responsive on my order.

I would expect you should have a VIN by now. The only other thing that complicates your order is that you ordered right at the end of the '21 MY ordering - you most likely will be getting a '22 but I'm not sure if those order banks are open yet. The Ranger has been on kind of a "non standard" build schedule ever since it was introduced. The first year builds didn't start until December (Job 1) and that has more or less continued each year - so instead of changing over in July or August they are changing over in December. It is possible yours is stuck in a bit of limbo since ordering for '21s is closed now but I don't think you can order a '22 yet. But I could be wrong.....

I ordered my XLT FX4 on September 3 all all I have is a orde number. Keep asking dealer and nothing!!!!

I think if I don't have any updates on Nov 8 or 15th(I ordered on 9/17) I'm just gonna cancel my order and, hate to say it, drop ford altogether. I can handle delays, but it's this secrecy bull**** I have little patience for.

Never had such negative experiences between the manufacturer and the dealerships as I have with ford.

If you just ordered on 9/17.....the best you can hope for at this point is a VIN. FYI, the Ford tracking page is very unreliable and does not update. Call you Dealer....they have access to your VIN#, Order#, when available; Build date and expected arrival date. (I ordered on 8-18, got the VIN on 9-9 and am now scheduled for a 10-28 build with an 11-22 arrival date.) You are just one month into the process.

I ordered mine around noon on 09/29 at dealer. Received the order confirmation that night. Was expecting to be a 2021 but not so. Haven’t heard anything since. Dealer thought it would be end of December or into January to get it. Looks like they’re starting to schedule 2022’s next week so maybe we’ll hear something

2-3 days after the order was placed the Dealer gets a DORA form. They can and should give you a copy of this. It is confirmation of order and has all the specs and codes which you should cross check. Sounds like a crappy dealer. Sorry...

It must have come with one of those factory-installed "flux capacitors." Or more likely, Ford is in such as state of confusion they are stuck in the 70's. Not a bad era to be stuck in (I wouldn't mind going back to my JHS/HS days - life was simple without adult level responsibility) Amazing!!!

The saga continues, yet another delivery delay has occurred. The estimated delivery has now changed from 10/27 to 11/4.

Try Twitter. Mine was in that hell since 8/24. The day I had an exchange with them on Twitter and the truck shipped and is now at the dealer. Best I can tell from my exchanges with Ford CS via phone and Twitter is that Ford's production is a disaster right now. They're rushing to fill orders for volume dealers and trucks that could be moving are sitting at MAP. I wish I would've complained on Twitter a month ago.
