My Ranger has been at the shop since December 10th, they've moved it twice, and it's been sitting in the same spot for over two weeks.
How long does this tsb usually take to get finished?
About 3 days for MY TSB, and 4 days to rebuild once all the parts were in.
I was able to still drive it in-between.

Mine was in a tranny shop for almost 2 weeks. But that was because they got some odd diagnostic readings and finally did a fix to the valve body.

Voted no, but did replace fluid and DPFE. Tranny started acting up again 6 months before my extended warranty expired. I lost faith and gave up at 76,000 miles and traded for a new 2024 Bronco.
Sadly that's going to be the same transmission with the same issues. Ford should have just kept making ZF copies under license. At least 6R80's were reliable and fairly tough.

the Bronco 2.7 uses the 10R60.
Maybe the same family. There is no weekly, if not daily, tranny problems posts on the Bronco forum.

While I love my truck, I'm leaning towards potentially selling it in the next year or so. This tranny issue is steering me towards something like a WRX with a manual transmission.

I don't think there will ever be an official recall on these, especially since Ford now has one of, if not the highest warranty spending costs in the industry.

When you think of how many hundreds of thousands, maybe over a million, of these are out there with the defective CDF, Ford bean counters will argue that it's much cheaper to piss off customers than recall and fix all those transmissions.

"Oh but that problem is fixed now" doesn't provide much help to the ones already out there.

Ford is losing Billions on warranty repair costs. They are not going to voluntarily add to that depressing number.

The problem with all these big Corporates is that they are "too big to fail". The government set a precedent years ago when they began to bail out every major corporation across every industry.

They are no longer held accountable for failure.

Started long ago with Savings and Loans, Banks, Auto Industry, Health Care, and the Military Industrial Complex.

Did anyone take note that only "Main Street" businesses were forced to close during the "Pandemic". Meanwhile Corporates did what corporates do, consolidated, and squeezed out the last of the small businesses.

If we simply let the free market work, these now bloated industrial giants would collapse overnight, and faster, nimble, more customer responsive businesses would take their place. Currently, they feast on small businesses, continually purchasing them and attempting to merge the latest tech into their 100+ year old business model.

But it is never going to happen until the US government moves away from its fascist leanings back to solid free markets... the primary reason it is never going to happen, it is far easier to control an industry when there are only 3 or 4 large players in a given market, instead of 3 or 4 hundred businesses all competing.

And government, like all other businesses only grows larger and more unresponsive over time. It is the nature of human civilization. It ain't gonna change.

"Everything changes, but nothing does."

Many years ago I was talking to an accreditation inspector during a coffee break in one of our 3 year lab accreditation reviews. Some of these people are nit picking aholes, I guess because they just weren't good enough to keep a real job somewhere.

This guy however was great, making suggestions, and noting down things he thought were good ideas. He was a bit of a history buff and we got down to the subject of Govt red tape, and over regulation. I had started it initially just to stir him up a bit being an inspector and he seemed a decent guy who could take a joke. But the conversation became quite serious.

He said do you know what actually killed the Roman Empire? I said the Goths and Visigoths who invaded from the north. He said yes, correct, but how was it that they were able to invade and take over what was at the time the seat of world's best trained, resourced, and organised army which had conquered whole other countries?

He said bureaucracy, red tape, and over regulation. He said that the Roman government had grown so large, fat, sloppy, and over regulated, that they simple couldn't respond quickly enough to a home threat.

I don’t know how but I’m at 149,000 and not the first even hint of a transmission issue. Just last week had the first “broke fix“ issue, rear drive shaft center bearing.
