What’s the downside of doing the flush vs dropping the pan??

Yeah - the tech said it would be 440 for parts and 470 for labor - WTH

900+ to drop the pan and change the filter and fluid damn

So my local dealer just quoted me $289 to flush the transmission and flush the filter. My question is is this OK or would it be better to replace the filter and replace the fluid? Also, will the dealers add lube guard or do I need to bring that in and ask them to add it?
