I didn't know what key words to search for, so if this is in another thread, please merge there.
I just watched a compelling video illustrating the potential danger of routing a dash cam cable across the a-pillar. If the ranger airbag runs down the length of the a-pillar, and you simply stuff the wire into the seam between the pillar cover and ceiling panel, you are placing the cable right across the airbag.
Is this a concern on the Ranger? You might be able to reroute the cable behind the airbag, but you will need to pull away the pillar cover and you are risking exposure to the actual airbag.
Thoughts?

Sounds terrible. Guess this is why there are no a pillar guage pods too.
I was wondering that too, but that would mean there is no risk on the passenger side.

Mehhh, you are fine. There is plenty space behind the pillar cover to route several wires behind or alongside the airbag. I wired up a Lariat sunvisor and had no concerns.

Speaking of that, I haven't wired the passenger side sunvisor yet. Anyone know if there is 12V key on power running behind that pillar to tap into?

I was under the impression that I could tap into the windshield/mirror cover thingy and wire up the dashcam , is that not an option ?

That is totally an option, preferred actually. I'm using my rearview mirror power for a radar detector. The power cable for it has power and ground probes that tap into the connector.
If I was powering a dashcam I would do that.

I ran the front camera wire first tucking into the headliner and around the A-pillar and never had any problems. Just use the plastic trim tools and push it lightly in there, I doubt you'd even come near the air bag as there's plenty of room for a wire.

I have an XLT, but bought a set of Lariat sunvisors from Ebay for the built in Homelink garage door openers. They also have mirrors with lights. You have to splice in 2 wires: ground and hot. I went BAT+ hot (green w/yellow tracer) instead of key on power (blue/brown I think). I spliced in the A pillar which was very easy to remove. Someone did a really good write-up on here. I followed that except for constant power.

If you have the auto dimming mirror there is power and you can buy a Dongar, just plug and play. I just found out about this a few weeks ago and it works great for my dashcam.

I think the point is, and I never thought about it until this post
In the event of crash - will the wire (slow down) or (Block) the Side Curtain Airbag from Deploying
If routed in front of the airbag and you have the wire secured tightly - (Yes) would be the answer
