Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Started using the Fuelly app 4 months after I picked up my Tremor. My truck is stock btw. I buy only 93 octane, Top Tier. Luckily 93 availability is no problem in the southeast.

Here’s a snapshot of the overall history. The highway vs city is not correct. I stopped adjusting that setting probably the second month of using the app. I’d guess my truck is probably 70%+ highway during its lifetime. And if an interstate has a 70mph limit, I generally put the cruise on 77. Generally any highway I’m usually a 7-8 over guy.

I have zero complaints with the
Blue Beauty’s mileage. But as others have said, I certainly didn’t buy my truck for the gas mileage.

We have very similar averages and mines been getting worse since moving here. I have to warm it up a lot more here than I did in AZ which really kills the overall average. This past week has been very cold and it takes a good 6 minutes in the morning for the rpm's to drop.

For the record its a leveling kit. Shocks will not raise the rear of a truck. Well they can 1/4 or so until they settle. Springs, spacers, or a lift strut are the only way to lift our trucks.

I assume you are new to trucks, thats ok we all start somewhere. 75+ mph and mpg goes out the window. Just simple physics.

Aw.....so if I pump 80 psi into my tires and it raises Truck an inch, that don't count as a lift ???? :giggle:

Only until you wear out the middle of your tires.

90 percent of poor mpg threads for an ecoboost involves driving at 80+ mpg. Its actually comical. They should all come stock with a boost gauge.

I honestly don't think many know how to drive a turbo. This was my first one and it's a learning curve from a regular one stepping on the skinny pedal. If you ease into the gas instead of mashing it you'll get way better mileage. Granted it's not as fun but you can't have both it's either Eco or Boost.

Every time Annie drives my Ranger I get the worst mpg ever. I'll average 22.5 and when she's driving it it'll be in the high teens. ?ā€ā™‚ But in her defense she doesn't drive it enough to get use to it but when she does she smiles and says "boy this really goes fast". lol

I guess I've been fairly lucky. I was getting 24-26 until just recently. I'm not sure why, but the mpg have dropped to about 22.
I still like the truck, but still a bit concerned. No codes or lapse in performance. No 4x4, but I did lift the front end up 2 inches a year or so ago.
Just getting old...like me.
I am using the Ranger display for reference.

Why is the gas mileage so bad i am getting 14mpg but i do have a 3inch lift and 33inch tires but I was getting 15mpg before the tires and lift and yes i drive easy i replaced the airlifter oil and sparkplugs any other reason why my gas mileage is so bad? (I have tried every bottle of gas injector cleaner)
Once you jam it up in the air flow, raising resistance thats about 2mpg less.
.
Heavery tires increased rolling resistance, more Friction... 2more mpg gone !
Hence 15 mpg.
I went up one size 255/75 one inh narrower. Highway milage dropped from 26 to 23 mpg. Stock height. The tires were 5 lbs. heavier ... lost 3 mpg .

LOTS of variables in MPG. Elevation, hills, octane, acceleration, distance of trips can all make a significant difference.

I routinely get 22-25 mpg with 93 octane and a cap. Stock 265/60/18 Hankooks and stock stance. I've gotten up to 30MPG on long highway trips, however, it's super flat where I live and I use cruise as often as possible - even to accelerate sometimes. Whenever I go anywhere with hills - let alone mountains, the MPG hit is noticeable. Also, wind - I took a long trip a few months ago in high winds and I was barely getting 20mpg...with no wind on that trip, I would've been at 25-28.

So if you're lifted...mountains/hills? A lot of short trips?

Mid to upper teens wouldn't surprise me at all under even some of those scenarios.

I think it might just be where I live I live in SoCal and its hilly where i live I went to mammoth this weekend for skiing and I started to get 20mpgs on the freeway.
