I ordered the “Genuine OEM Locking Fuel Plug“ from Levittown # BU5Z-9C268-B (thank you Benny!). While the Ranger is not listed as compatible, it is. A bit pricy, but a perfect fit.

Only thing I did not think about before ordering is whether or not evildoers are even able to siphon from the Ranger, but gives me peace of mind and a decent FU if anyone tries.
I just ordered the above from Leavittown. I've had 5+ gallons siphoned since I parked the truck saturday night after refueling - I'm seeing it can be done with a fuel resistant plastic tube that opens both fuel neck doors.

Thank goodness that Ford had the forethought to install teeny tiny gas tanks on the Ranger. It makes gas thievery much less likely because of the small amount of gas that they would steal. Good thinking Ford!
I saw an after market 37 Gal tank someone got, I would like that very much .... even my Explorer has a 23 gal

So this is the right one for the Ranger?
If you look under "Fits these vehicles", it fits vehicles prior to 2019, and Rangers aren't listed anywhere.

Ok, I'll be the one to do it...

Do people still seriously siphon gas? o_O
On pickups, it's easier to drill a hole in the tank and let it drain into a bucket, happened to my brother's F150.

18 gals at $4 is $72. And if they drilled your tank, that's probably another 2 or 3 hundred. Thieves will steal $5 if they can.

I have been running the cap; BU5Z-9C268-B, for months. No issues. It does seem like someone with a big enough screw driver and alot of determination could break it.

But.... I'll be happy to annoy anyone trying to steal from me. Hoping they don't have a drill handy.......

Like my taillights that have security torx screws filled with silicone. Possible to remove, yep. However, it is gonna take more than a few minutes.
