Once you jam it up in the air flow, raising resistance thats about 2mpg less.
.
Heavery tires increased rolling resistance, more Friction... 2more mpg gone !
Hence 15 mpg.
I went up one size 255/75 one inh narrower. Highway milage dropped from 26 to 23 mpg. Stock height. The tires were 5 lbs...
Ford is aware of this issue, they have no fix for it.
I really like my truck, but this lame piece of engineering by Ford, and access to the area with out taking out most of the dash has me thinking of Accura or a Lexus.
For $2700 they better dam well engineer the whole drain system!
Yeah Ford really screwed the info display menu up.
Oil life, and tire pressure should be in the big list when you go to it, not 3 deep under a wrong heading. This is what happen when you let the engineer who figured where it is to go, change the order, like some word scramble !
I've had this truck for 4 years now and I used to be able to display what the tire pressures were on the dash by going through the display buttons on the steering wheel. Now I can't find it anywhere on there it doesn't seem to be able to display it can show what you want the tire pressure to be...
That sounds like another piece of genius engineering.
If this turns out to be a condenser drain issue, I'm not putting $2700 every 2 years in fix, for a poorly engineered hvac system !
I'm 77years old, I wonder if I'll be dead, before the floor rusts out ?
Decisions, Decisions !
What exactly...
Yeah I bought it in May 2020.
Here in Florida at this time of year it rains every day about 4pm.
I'm going to check the floor on dry days and humid when the air is running, which done here is almost always !
Where does the condenser lines exit the truck ?
Years ago almost all cars had...
They are telling me this is the issue.
But ... why doesn't the floor get damp on the passenger side ?
But ... why does it get damp only on the drivers side right in front of the drivers seat and next to the door ? Door seal ?
Behind the brake pedal up the firewall a little it is completely dry ...
I have a Ford Ranger 2020 and they were quoting me today $2,640 to pull the dash apart and re-insulate the drain lines from my A/C condenser, so they don't drip water on the drivers floor, and make the carpet wet. Ford said this is known issue and has no fix for this at the time. I live in...
Got rid of the Hankook tires . Put a set of General Grabbers on, 255 - 75 x 17.
This is on a 2020 4x4
XLT FX 4
stock height. Looks great and ride great. No rubbing
They weigh about5 lbs more, lost 2 mpg.
1 in. taller, 1 in. narrower than stock .
I live in a apartment complex, they get ansy if you even open the hood.
Any ways, all the shops in my area including tranny shops and the stealer want 3 hrs. labor at $125 per hrs. to drop the pan, new filter and fluid. Around $700 REALLY ?
If I couldn't have the pan off...
