i can not get the latch on the gas nozzle to stay on when pumping gas. I have to hold the handle or the gas stops pumping. I drive lots so this a regularly recurring annoyance.

I filled mine for the first time today and it worked exactly like the filler on my TC.
Set the pump then stand back and wait.
Could it be that you are not inserting the nozzle far enough, or maybe you are setting the flow rate too high.
I always set mine on the first notch.
Some stations also have the pump pressure set too high,
Maybe try another first tier station or discuss the pump pressure issue with the station owner,

Be sure you have the nozzle inserted as far as you can make it go...all the way down to the spring. Otherwise it's a pump problem. I've had 3 capless cars and never had an issue.

No problems with the latches in Michigan, going on 9000 miles so far.

I had this once with one pump. I haven't used that pump again.

The whole capless thing was just a solution looking for a problem.
A tethered cap solved the problem already.
I remember stations having boxes full of lost gas caps.
A real problem when the cap was surface mounted and part of the body work.

Yeah, maybe we should elect more engineers and fewer lawyers.
Engineers seek real solutions:clap:, Lawyers just seek more laws.:headbang:
Yeah, it's just lawyers. Not at all related to air quality. I suspect it's just been long enough that people don't really remember how bad the air was at service stations before the vapor recovery hoses were invented, so they bitch out of honest ignorance rather than malice?

Eh say what you want but I feel like a caveman when I have to unscrew a rental car cap. Lol

I feel the same way in a car without push button start. Times, there’re a changing.

I have the cap-less on my 2011 Taurus. The first time I filled that, I was slightly confused. But now (after 8 years) I just love not having to remove the cap. Never had a problem filling it.
So far, have purchased gas for the ranger twice, no problems.
UPDATE: 5700 miles on ranger. Only had the "fill problem" once so far. The pump had one of those vapor recovery systems.

Relax, you breath out more CO2 when you're excited!
Offense is often taken when none was offered.

I said nothing about pump vapor recovery...
Screw on gas caps are proven to be a better seal and much more reliable,
while still working well with pump vapor recovery systems.
Engineering means better solutions not just more of them.

Lawyers exhale 2.3 pounds of CO2 each day, and that's if they are asleep all 24hrs...
A filibuster can multiply that by a factor of eight!

Waste management and fugitive emissions were important parts of my career,
As well as making clean fuels for modern vehicles.
Humor?... sorry, apparently not so much!;):giggle:
