I agree with you on this. Your daily driving schedule is probably the biggest variable in what YOUR long term mileage will be. That is why these fabulous mileage people are reporting getting on one time one trip runs are just that. They are not an average, they are a snapshot.
Over the last 4 months 6000 miles I averaged 18mpg even towing, that would also be on the winter gas mix change I lose a few MPG in the winter, 18mpg is pretty much the worst I have seen in the last year, the whole 1/4 before that I averaged 22mpg

Clearly you are confused. That is not a lift. That is a leveling kit. All it did was raise the front. The rear did not change height.

That is two words. Not a number sir. You have Brett disappointment to the Count....
I always thought 17 was the happy medium most rangers had?
I guess size matters?

You guys are getting some low numbers. I've gotten the same mpg since new, no changes. Worst I have ever seen is like 18-19mpg on a headwind or big elevation gain like driving across Wyoming on the highway. Maybe 20-22mpg in the winter. In the summer I get as high as 22-25mpg on highway/interstate round trips. I have gotten 26-27mpg round trip before in the summer but it's rare. And I have always had a tune and 32s and always run 91.

Ah yes, another mileage thread. When I see one, I make a big bowl of popcorn, grab a beverage and sit back for a good laugh. After reading a number of these, I think I've at least come up with a theory for the wide variation in reported mileage.

Besides location, this includes terran, elevation, temperatures. It is affected by the variety of mods done to the truck. Size, type and weight of tires are a huge factor. Another factor is lift/level and it's affect on aerodynamics of the truck. Racks, RTTs along with all the extra weight continuously carried are also factors. So no one is starting on equal ground.

Now for the biggie, people's driving habits. Many people don't like how the truck drives in "D", so they use Tow/Haul or Sport mode. These tend to keep the engine at a higher RPM. This by nature uses more gas. It also tends to keep the engine on boost more. Being in boost pushes more air the engine, more air more fuel. This feeds into driving the speed limit. Yes I know, a tough thing to do, especially in the western states where the limits are already quite high. But, let's face it the truck really does get it's best highway mileage between 60 and 70 MPH. Over 70 the mileage goes down exponentially, especially when towing. This is again because the engine is again running in boost.

One last comment. The sometimes seemingly incredible mileage figures that get reported are, I believe, on occasional long distance highway trips. Thus have no basis for comparison to everyday driving.

Again these are just my own theories and are free to be contested. I personally do not keep routine track of my mileage. I did not buy my truck with that in mind. I enjoy my truck for what it is and fill the tank up when it gets low. Carry on with the discussion, my popcorn is ready.
I get this much.......3

Why is the gas mileage so bad i am getting 14mpg but i do have a 3inch lift and 33inch tires but I was getting 15mpg before the tires and lift and yes i drive easy i replaced the airlifter oil and sparkplugs any other reason why my gas mileage is so bad? (I have tried every bottle of gas injector cleaner)
I have a 2019 Lariat, and I track mileage thru Fuelly. My best MPG has been 26.4, my average is 21.5. I use regular 87 octane gas.

I consistently get 20mpg, with or without the tune. I recently did a 800 mile road trip and got 21mpg.
235/75/18 and a topper. Topper didn’t make any difference either.

85mph on that rig? You’re probably down in single digits during those runs.
