Call ford, if you are a loyal ford owner they might help you i have owned 3 ford trucks, and 3 SUVs. I raised holy hell that I beat the shit out of my f150 and got 260k on a stock trans and this pile of shit only went 75k.

All in I paid $2200k for a new ford one, thank you ford. Dealer quote was $7000 otherwise.

Well known company and they have addressed the CDF drum issue.
Does their application fit rangers? I know it’s the same transmission but I’m just curious since they seem to specify F-150’s. Looks solid other wise

I'm happy to discuss it with anyone else that wants to attempt it. I have a pretty good part list and understanding of the bronco system since I'm putting a Bronco drivetrain into another project of mine.

I'll be honest, I have no interest in a manual swap. I'm old and lazy. I just want to put it in D and enjoy the ride.

I'm going to assume that the Transmission has never been serviced? Thanks to my experience with Nissan, I found it is best to service a Transmission every 30,000 miles with a drain and fill. The problem with Ford and other manufacturers is they don't provide a great way to service the Transmission in such way. Though it may cost a few, I highly recommend getting the PPE Standard Pan and a remote Dip Stick. This will make servicing the Transmission much easier. Doing the service as a drain and fill every 30,000 may seem silly, but it will help ensure the Transmission will last.

Researching that now. Can't seem to figure out the differences. Might even hit up midnight performance

Well no. Fluid change isn't on the recommended list until 150k.

Can't really go back in time and change that.

Form makes the claim for a service at 150,000 miles, but what is the point of it won't make it that far? Do it every 30,000 miles and you have a much better chance of getting it to go further. This is true for any Automatic and Manual Transmission.

On the bright side it's an awfully convenient time to try putting a Bronco MT88 manual transmission in...

This is my plan when my 19' trans dies. Im only at 55k miles though, so hopefully have some time. Ill rent a car for a couple months and spend my nights doing a manual swap.
I think this would be fun but getting the trans is just the tip of the iceberg. Peddle box, master cylinder with feed to throw-out bearing (or it maybe a separate cylinder altogether), the wiring, changing the ECU programming... too late in the game for me but have at it.

The 150K fluid change requirement worked exactly as intended, it got you out of warranty and it let Ford claim 'low cost of ownership'.

One should almost always look at factory recommended service intervals through that lense.

I've all but been screaming for the last several years that if you plan on keeping your truck long term, that you need to up the maintenance game, especially on the 10R80.

With it being out of warranty go to a reputable transmission shop and have them handle it. You can count on it being cheaper. You said they told you 100k on warranty that is news I thought powertrain warranty was 5 years and 60k miles. Did you have extended warranty?
Yep and they will probably do a better job too, unlike dealerships their business depends on the quality of their work.
