Is there a big difference from 265/70-17 and 265/65-17 (Hankook-factory)? My Ranger was ordered with the latter and there was no interference issues at stock height. They're for sale BTW

There's a 1" in diameter difference (30.6"-31.6") and the width is the same.

OEM size is a 30.5" OD tire and 265/70R17 is a 31.6" OD tire.

In the massive "Biggest tires, no lift" thread, it's been pretty well established that 265/70R17 is the biggest you can safely go without any mods whatsoever. The two caveats are going 255/75R17 (skinnier and taller) or removing crash bars. The skinnier and taller tire is a great option, but your tire choices are limited as it's not a common size (and also more expensive).

There's about a 1" difference in outside diameter between the two. Which will raise the truck about .5". Apparently the 265/70/17 works fine on stock suspension.

Aren't the KOs a bit heavier than the Gen Grabber ATX?

edit: looks like only a 2lb difference with the lighter load rated tires. However looks like the mileage warranty is better on the Generals and they are about $50 cheaper per tire plus there's a $100 rebate 'til oct 31st.. The BFGs look better but only by a small margin in my opinion.

I agree. I went with the ATX, the price difference was worth it to me!

Oh yeah, that's definitely the right size for these trucks. That OD fills out the wells perfectly at stock height and I think it will look awesome with a level kit as well.

Ive got 265/70/17’s on factory sport wheels with a 2.5 leveling kit. My front tires have rubbed 3 times in 6 months since I’ve installed them.

It’s been coming out of a parking lot onto a road making a hard right turn and exiting a little faster than I probably should have.

I didn't think there would be any without a leveling kit, may be some cutting on my future.

You should be ok without the level kit. The width is the same and it's only a 1" diameter difference than the stock tires.

I did the same when I was researching tires/level kits. I was driving myself crazy until I finally pulled the trigger...Lol

Does anybody here know if I can get away with 265/70r18 no rubbing on 2" BDS leveling kit?

The tech at the tire shop says yes but I'm still skeptical...
