265/70/17 on 17x9?

I see on several mfg websites that 8.5 wide wheel is max for 265/70/17 but I see most aftermarket 17 inch wheels are 17x9? Thoughts?

I myself do not recommend more than what the tire manufacturer recommends. I myself am using the factory wheels at this time and when I change wheels I will probably stay at the 17x8.

Shouldn’t be a problem, TireRack says 9” is the maximum. TireRack is very conservative when it comes to fitment.
