What difference does the 9 vains versus the OEM make? Inquiring minds want to know.
The whole compressor wheel is bigger, it’s a larger wheel with more vanes. The housing is machined to accommodate it. I have something similar in mine.

Vane count can impact spool speed and rpm range for optimal power. More vanes spool slightly faster but have more mass and can run out of efficiency quicker. Less vanes take a second to get going but have better top end efficiency. Unless I have that backwards. Basically the meat and potatoes, been out of the modified turbo world for a bit.

More turbo vanes more better!

I had assumed more was better! I was hoping there was a reason it was better, but maybe that's all there is. ?

He put it on, what do you want him to do? Drive it?

I didn't get to drive it very far I developed a coolant leak, there is this weird slip joint on one of the coolant lines and decided to play it safe for once
play it safe?

Just kidding. I get it. Can't wait to hear an update.

okay second drive impressions, this turbo is great, the turbo whistle and blow off valve noises make for a fun test drive and the response feels close to a stock turbo I highly recommend it, I will be doing some data logs in the next few days and will post about the findings, Work Turbochargers claims the 52mm compressor wheel is good for 500 crank HP

I know people go on about the 2.3 mustang and focus engines putting out big HP numbers, but is there any thought of what this block can handle?

Transmission seems to handle plenty (let's not mention the CDF drum).

Do ya run outta injectors before getting anywhere near too much power for the block?

Once you have the bigger turbo on the truck the fuel injectors start to run out of steam, especially when you try to push it on E30 fuel. Not sure how much hp the engine can handle but Loweredon33s has 400 rwhp on his ranger with no issues so far, that will be enough hp for me on my build
