How did you disable the double honk when you get out, and god forbid, they keys are in your pocket. Really dislike that, way too loud and unnecessary! Is there a setting hopefully?

It's in the BdyCM I'm fairly certain. I did it for the "key in ignition, vehicle running, no driver" honk. I am 90% sure the keyless is in there too, should be that same module. If you look at the names it should be fairly obvious. Filter on "honk" or "disable" and one of those should bring it up.

OK thanks, I’m not a Forscan user and was hoping there was a setting but sure not finding it. Perhaps that’s the only option

Yes it was in the BCM but it was a while ago that I made my changes so I can't remember the specifics. Like Gizmokid said though, it is pretty self explanatory once you see it. I need to play with it again soon and extend the power off time for infotainment system after switching ignition off.

That is the only option. It is easy to find in Forscan. One of the first things I changed on my truck.

The old-ish Dell laptop I was using for Forscan got some type of update a while back that stopped it from booting try as I may to use the Dell repair/restore functions. I wound up getting the Win10 ISO from Microsoft and re-installed windows. Of course Forscan was gone along with my as-built file. Fortunately Ford has our 5G Rangers as-built files available for download when you supply the VIN.

I downloaded my as-built file and emailed it to myself. When I finally get around to using Forscan I plan on downloading the updated file & emailing it also. Let my service provider store them on their servers & have future access. I have done this to several non-life important files, stuff if my email gets hacked I'm not too worried about.

If you have downloaded the Forscan app and connected to your truck you can copy it. If you don't know if your trucks been changed already (you got it used) then getting the mfrs file is the way to go.

If the truck is under warranty and you are taking it to the dealer I'd switch everything back to stock in case they change anything and if they do (i.e. transmission shenanigans) I'd make a fresh 'as-built' file before going in and tweaking things again. I was able to turn off the adaptive transmission and ASS among other personalization. If you are using a custom tune box I am pretty sure you need to uninstall the tune before doing this too even if it (like mine) made those changes.

I'm trying to connect to scan the steering module of a rack with a cracked housing so I can replace it with a used one and program the original coding if necessary. I purchased the recommended OBDLinkEX cable. It worked once and that's it.

Now I'm getting 'No Adapter Found.' Tried three different laptops and got the same message. Just got a return authorization to send it back for a refund.

I read one post where a guy had similar problems until he got a Bluetooth unit and said it works well. Any recommendations on adapters that are reliable and actually work properly?

I read one post where a guy had similar problems until he got a Bluetooth unit and said it works well. Any recommendations on adapters that are reliable and actually work properly?

I have this one too - I stopped using this one because I bought the nicer one I don't have to move the switch on. I will send this to you, if you want to cover shipping. Then you can ship it back. Don't know if it saves you money, but the offer is out there. If you want to have one, I would recommend the first one I linked.
