What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Drove to the store.

When I came out this lady had parked next to me. It's a 1977 f150 ranger. She has owned it from New. It has the same engine and trans only basic maintenance on it.

Rusted but brought back memories of my scout masters 1978 f150 truck we drove to summer camps.

Drove it to Brundage for skiing but knocked myself out so when I got back to cabin my wife had to drive me to ER. 50 mph crashes HURT! Nothing broken but sore as hell and face is bloodied up even with a helmet on. Goggles left an implant on left side of face.

Me too, could have been worse.

Out of commission for a while. Have no memory of what happened or skiing back to truck. Upper body feels like I went down and landed on chest, shoulders and face. My tracking software shows where I was at the time.

Yes, I just started wearing a helmet yesterday! Checked my ski tracker and I was down for 17 minutes.

Glad you are OK and that the crash was not worse! Smart move to wear a helmet. Did any part of your helmet make contact with anything when you crashed? Any concussions?

I always wear a helmet when cycling because of head trama that can occur. Beside taking a nasty fall, motorists have a tendency to disregard cyclists and you have to ride defensively. A friend of mine hit a bike and fortunately the rider recovered but the friend was in litigation for 5 years.

I always wear a helmet when cycling because of head trama that can occur. For one reason, motorists have a tendency to disregard cyclists and you have to ride defensively. A friend of mine hit a bike and fortunately the rider recovered but the friend was in litigation for 5 years.

Yes, scuff on the helmets left forehead, cut and bloodied left ear ear (from the speaker?), goggle foam covered in blood from impact around left eye and nose bridge. Face is swollen on left side this morning.

ER said it is a concussion if you lose consciousness but the only memory loss I have is the fall itself and skiing down to the truck. Pain in upper back, chest and arms this morning is a 10! Right arm rotator cuff hurts like hell.

Holy Crap Steve - glad you’re on the mend and not in worse shape. It sounds like you’re gonna hurt for a while. Tough break with the concussion - and, yes, it’s definitely a concussion - even if it isn’t, it’s definitely a concussion. I recommend a follow-up with your GP after a few more days. Seriously, please watch it closely.

Thanks Duke, follow-up scheduled. Might have to do further investigation of right shoulder as CT doesn't show soft tissue damage and I can't lift the arm without great pain.

That was a serious collision! Any scratches on or damage to the helmet? Take care of your condition and please follow up as your health care providers recommend.
