My daddy once owned a '69 Ranger. I learned to drive it in a hayfield ( picking up hay). Yet another one of the vehicles we had "back in the day" that I wish I had now.
My grandfather had a 1979 F250 that he let me drive as a little kid to dump the compost at the back of his farm and out to pick fruits and veggies for the table. And I mean, I was a little kid, maybe 8 to 10 years old, when I started driving it with him. Damn, what I would give to have that old truck for my own just because of the memories.

drove 4 hours total to get my military surplus trailer to use to build out an off-road trailer and camping trailer for the family. everything pre-made was wayyyy over priced. My current roof top tent will be moved to this new build! for 1200$ it's in really good shape. can you guess the tire size?

Wow Jeff, it looks like it’s in great condition - can’t wait to see what you do with it. ?

shaggin wagon!
I don't know what he is complaining about, I used to drive my parents dodge caravan, it was a dark green, like I stole that bitch. I'd get those tires hot and start them squealing. ?

Ok, maybe it was more like chirping off the line and sliding when I'd go into a turn to fast... But I was Mario andreti in my mind. ?

Went up to Lake Powell last week for a few days. I’m guessing the boat weighs around 5500.? We just use the Ranger to launch and retrieve. It stays at the dry storage.
I had an f250 that used to get pushed around with this boat hauling it home.

I took that minivan offroading once. My mom took the van in for some repair work and the mechanic told her that the oil pan was about 1/3rd it original size. It wasn't until years later that I admitted that it was me and offroading. hahahaha

Race Red scabs haulin' stuff for the win!

Post pics and your thoughts on the build, I've been looking at small sheds for some stuff that sits out in a open patio. It has a roof but open on two sides (I screw transparent tarps on those open sides for the winter, it's a real classy look). =p

Drove the Ranger to have a quick visit with the FIL. He just sold his place so he can move into a retirement residence. Meal plan, weekly cleaning and linen service, cafe, BBQ area, Happy Hour lounge - the works. I took him a few moving boxes and some bubble wrap but I was mainly there to check on his spirits - 40 years in the same house - can’t be an easy transition to make.

The truck isn’t used much these days so it was a good chance to charge the battery and check on the BMS. All worked just as it should - ASS wasn’t engaging when I first started out of the city but by the time I got to his place, it was shutting down when I expected it to.

Driving in S mode is the norm for me but I stayed in D for this entire trip. I sure noticed the difference in shifting, especially in that 30-40 mph range when you’re in moderate traffic and easing on and off the gas to maintain distance, instead of braking too often. No hesitation, hunting, or surging, but the pattern sure is different when you accelerate slowly.

About 41,000 miles - still a great truck!
