Well I was hoping that I won that lottery and wasn't going to have it happen to me.

Wrong. Nope. Not that lucky.

Going to a friends today I got, I think, The Tranny Trouble.

I find it awesomely crazy as well...I have at home my Mishimoto pan, fluid, and other accessories....was going to do the service after Christmas. And I can't help but wonder...was this a gift? IF they swap the transmission (lead time is 8-10 weeks lol) then do I even bother? I've mentally started a timer IF they do swap the trans that I am going to be moving the truck off at 140-150k because I am skeptical of the replacement's quality due to the sheer number of complaints.

Am I wrong for thinking this? IF this is the case?

Plus this will be interesting as I have Geico's Mechanical Breakdown coverage. This should...SHOULD...only make me liable for 250 dollars. We shall see. But they already have me with a bit of the red-a$$ as they only operate apparently Monday - Friday.

So with no one to steer me to a rental for transportation I caught an uber Enterprise...and guess what they had for me lol...

2023 Tacoma lol

First impressions...seems overly large for what it is. Likely due to that needlessly awesome power-dome hood. Also...that much engine (has a V6 and Off Road package 4x4 and such) seems...awfully gutless. AWFULLY gutless. And thirsty since it doesn't accelerate like I expect it to. :( Seats are meh...not very comfortable.

BUT...it IS set up for North America. "How can you tell Darrell?" you may ask? I shall tell you...the bloody thing has a dash-minder when you turn off the vehicle that asks if you checked the back seat. :|

Yep.

SMH

So yep D had a very poor Saturday.

So you are expecting Geico to cover the tranny? I'm pretty curious and interested on getting that coverage now.

If the check engine light is flashing and you have a engine shaking then you most likely have a misfire going on. If you can check the codes. If I am right hopefully the plugs will come out with no problems.

Yes If they have Mech Breakdown they will cover it. It's better than fords esp by far... because you can take it where you want you are not stuck with a crappy dealership.

You have to get the Geico Mech Breakdown when the car is new and it's only about 10-15 bucks every 6 months. My whole family always gets it and has used it. Works great.

Edit: Added a link for you all

Sounds like a misfire to me as well. Plug or coil.

CEL Flashing generally means catalytic converter damaging. Doubtful the transmission is causing that.

A flashing Check Engine light is telling you that Cat damage may occur if you continue to drive, so it is engine performance related not the transmission.
So the most likely is a severe cylinder misfire.

Well, @Msfitoy , you’ve really done it this time! You went and got everyone all wound up thinking their transmission’s going to grenade and now they’re freaking out at every little warning! And none of us are immune!

Yesterday, while driving on the 401, my low washer fluid level warning light came on - I was so confused and I panicked. I immediately headed for the breakdown lane and called CAA. I was frantically searching through the FordPass app looking for answers - flashers on, hood up, a half dozen road flares lining the live lane. It was quite the scene.

After starting a lengthy thread in the transmission section of ranger5g.com, I finally came to my senses, closed my hood, turned off my flashers, and pulled back onto the freeway.

Thanks a lot Sid. ;)

Duke, it was just your iced over parking sensors. Hit the button and turn them off. :p

There’s a low washer fluid sensor??? Oh god not another thing to worry about ?‍♂
OMG! Maybe it was my fuel in oil indicator.

* sprints out to garage in pyjamas with FordPass app open while dialing the auto club
