I bet that $250 is a drain and refill only and no filter change. Mine was a local tranny shop had it done for $375. Do the maintenance.

They have a few class action lawsuits on these 10R80s. These TSBs are more evidence that these transmission have problems.

Find a reputable mechanic. Most dealerships don't replace filters for trans just empty and fill.

For what's it's worth. I recently did a transmission service with a filter changed and used to have the cold hard shifts in D but not any more "yet". This was at 63k. Also, did the diff also.

I changed mine for a Interstate last month. No problems.

That's a big plus for me and the lack of major issues.

I replaced that exact problem under warranty. They had to drop interior celling to get to the screws to remove the trim.
