I didn’t get a full year out of the battery on my 2019 - warranted. There seemed to be a batch of bad batteries for 2019. If yours has lasted this long, I’m sure it’s not one of them.

A battery tester and desulfator is minimal investment. The tester takes seconds to operate and you get a good idea of health. But be sure to take about 3 measurements adjusting the clamps each time because results vary. The desulfator is set it and forget it. Only operates above 13.5v.

I have a 2019, over the weekend helped someone out with a dead battery. It got me thinking if I should be looking at replacing mine as it is the original. I'd rather be proactive than the truck not starting in some random parking lot.

Has anyone had their battery die from normal use yet on any 2019's?
My 19 still solid

My 2015 is now on its 3rd battery. The second I've put in it since I bought it in 2019 with 67,00o Km on board. So they're lasting about 4 years for me. I blame the hot climate here and the "fuel efficient charging system" which puts in just barely enough juice to keep a battery alive.

2019 Lariat with 41k miles. No issues...
2019 with 17,000 miles (was new on lot when I purchased 5/20)
no problems.
Note: not driven alot and test battery frequently along with occasional trickle charges

My 2019 XLT was manufactured in August of 2019 and I bought it late February of 2020. It’s garaged and only has 14500 miles on it mostly short trips. Lately I’ve been getting occasional system shutdown to conserve battery messages and interesting when I get these messages the start up and proximity sensors sound odd, kind of like it’s squeaking. I do have a battery charger/tender that I use occasionally. I think it’s time for a new battery.

Not going OEM, considering the Costco Interstate battery as a replacement. Anyone have any experience with their batteries?

Mines coming up on 2.5 years (because I had bad batteries from the dealer so got free replacements).

Is there a better AGM battery out there? Back in the day me and all the cool kids had Optima Red Tops.

Just replaced a 1.5 year old battery on my friend’s HRV (not AGM). Costco replaced it free since it had a 4 year full warranty. BUT not any more for new batteries. Totally prorated from day 1.

Costco said that too many people taking advantage of Free Replacement. I would imagine that customers sabotaging batteries just short of 4 years and asking for new ones. That’s sad.

Interstate still supposed to be one of the best but perhaps buying from BJs or other places that still have a 3 year Free Replacement.

Dealer replaced my ‘20 Ranger AGM just prior to 3 year warranty expired. ASS system stopped working so I knew something was up. Works fine now.

Only have 10,000 miles on truck. Raised charging set point to 87 with Forscan.

Bought my 2019 in April 2019 new and battery still going strong with 26000+ miles but I occasionally also get the "system shut down to conserve battery " message. Also the "ASS" doesn't work and the manual says it might be because the battery is low and the AC is on.

Here is a primer likely many of you have seen, but for those that have not ...

And this guy's recommendation has saved my bacon on my RS, which needed a new battery, mostly because it sits so much.

My very early production '19 still has the original battery (60K miles) and other than mice eating the battery insulation off the top, the battery is still holding it's charge and I've experience no weird electrical happenings. Truck is kept outside in temperatures from minus 25 to 90 degrees. Full disclosure, I've not checked I've not checked that OEM battery, but do keep a jump starter battery under the back seat, just in case but so far haven't needed it.

A deep cycle AGM battery I installed on a previously owned vehicle (driven fr time to time, not daily) was kept alive by a Del-Trans 750MA Maintainer for ... 16 years ... until the vehicle was stolen. Because of that experience I have several maintainers and, using the supplied pig-tails, have both ATVs and the RS constantly plugged in. ATV batteries are AGM and 6 & 7 years old respectively.

FYI, if you own a vehicle with an AGM battery and is not driven for extended periods (like over winter), and you do not have a battery maintainer, parasitic losses (clock, radio pre-sets, etc.) will very slowly drain the battery causing that battery to likely not recover.
