Agreed. But generally these forum's end up with mods who get the god complex... and ? goes down hill from there. Obviously I am new here. Just speaking of forums I have visited in the past. So far I really like the place. But banning people, IMHO, just be very visible, public, discussed, debated, and RARE. We are all adults. Don't need mods making decisions for us. "If we don't like the content, we can change the channel." Just my 2 cents.
One reason I enjoy this forum is all the stuff I learn from @AzScorpion. Stuff I can benefit from.

And so many members are incredibly helpful with pretty much any issue you can think of. That's really increased the enjoyment in owning a Ranger - thank you all!

And we never need to worry about @AzScorpion getting a God complex. First, he's a really great guy and second, he's too busy counting his damper and graphene money! =D

I snooped here for months as I decided between an F150 or the Ranger. Always seemed like a really good group of people here. And I too have already learned alot from many people here.

Also quickly learning how even having a Ranger on order causes upgrade fever.

You've learned quickly so you'll probably be safe.

It took 5 months for me to get mine and I lived on this forum. I also checked both tracking apps a few times a day (like upward to 40 times).

I also lined up about $5,000 in after-market accessories during that time - some I even ordered and had at home before the truck arrived!

Apart from the attack on the wallet, it's been a great forum and even greater truck. I love the Ranger and, for our needs, it's perfect.

Good luck! =)

6,720lbs to give the Frontier, best in class standard towing*. That is impressive compaired to Ranger. As the Frontier is the newest truck released, and had been in development for years, I'm not sure the 6G, while have had enough time to factor for this when it's released.

Hell, they don't even list the Ranger' spec on this.
I was actually curious how they're getting away with this. My best guess is that they're walking a really fine line, comparing the frontier to a non-tow-package ranger. One of the asterisks says "based on manufacturer's websites", and Ford says you need a tow package (not standard) to tow more than 3500 pounds (because that's the limit for the bumper ball). Frontier also needs to add a receiver to tow 6720 pounds, but since Ford's website doesn't say you can tow 7000whatever pounds after putting a hitch receiver onto a non-tow-package truck, Nissan is technically telling the truth because they are clear that you can put a receiver onto any Frontier and get the same tow limit without needing the tow package (just like the Ranger, but Ford never actually says that).

Then there's torque. Again the Ranger missed the boat.

This one the weaseling is easy; they say "more standard torque" not "best in class torque" and don't talk about the ranger.

No doubt.. more weasels than a Disney film.. and they walk the line like the man in black, himself.

Corrected with the 2024 model?
From the few I've seen around the streets here, without running around with a tape measure, it looks the same or at least similar height. Although I notice we've gone from the previous banjo style rear axle to the same Salisbury type rear axle as yours as we've moved over from drum to disk rear brakes.

So, my impression after a few weeks, Yes the Nissan is a better truck, love the 3.8L motor! Heated seats are nice, and I can actually get my arms into the bed to tie stuff down!!! the 120V outlet in the bed is also nice! Quick good looking little truck. Yes, better ?

So, in interest of full disclosure, I've sold my Ranger 6 mos ago for financial reasons, not because of this, though the rear bed height was a real PITA when loading and tying down.

After looking at the rear suspension design, while trying yo figure out a way to lower the rear suspension, I've come to suspect that the high rear ride height was a design flaw caught too late to correct. My reasoning follows from the fact that you can't really get any lowering height in any reasonable way. The frame points are too high, and the Truck is already slammed at the rear, but the rear is still too high. Ford even lowers the rear of the Truck on the "Build it" 'Net site to a normal level, like every other small truck on the market. Like the Tacoma i sold to buy it, and like the Nissan frontier i just picked up today, I can actual put both arms (I'm 6' with longish arms) in to the Bed from the side rear to tie something down. I could not without a uncomfortable strain with the Ranger. couldn't imagine trying if i was , say 5'8? So, looking at the fact that- -

1. It can't be corrected with the current Frame design

2. It's a flaw IMHO, wayyy too high. No reason for it

3. Even ford tries to hide the issue while selling the Truck

I believe that it was a design flaw that was caught too late to fix without a major rear frame redesigned, so Ford just put it into production.

And yes the Frontier is Awesome, but so was the Ranger, except for this major PITA flaw.

What to you think, agree or disagree and why?
The reason is capacity measured in cubic dimensions. Because the Ranger bed is shorter and, most importantly, more narrow than it's competition, the height allows Ford to have the same amount of cubic storage space. Look at a Ridgeline - the bed is a tad longer but much wider. In order to compete, Ford had to figure out a way to haul as much mulch.

I haven't had issues with reaching tie downs, and I have a Tremor so the issue is amplified a bit, but sometimes the height of the tailgate is a hassle. I've learned that sitting on it and then spinning into the bed to be the trick.
