I’m pretty shocked how much damage comes from the factory/ shipping.
Received my lariat tremor and I have a list of problems already. Hope this doesn’t cause further issues down the road after it’s fixed but apparently this is a normal amount of damage coming in from factory lately. Considering the price of things, I assumed it would have been taken care of alittle better lol

-front bumper warped on passenger side and had a scuff.
-front drivers fender has a dent outwards.
-front drivers door has what looks like paint blemish on body line.
-tailgate paint blemish that looks pitted.
-passenger rear fender under taillight has paint over spray.
-passenger tremor seat on leather has a small prick/cut in fabric.
-tailgate handle not flush (I’m being picky but it bothers me on top of not being white to match rest of handles lol)

maybe I’m just being extremely picky With everything but still makes me wonder how many owners don’t even look or do a walk around of their vehicles lol

If it makes you feel any better, my cousin just got a Tesla Model 3 and it had very similar issues, likely about the same number overall.

I think it probably isn't a Ford centric problem.

Pretty sure this won't make you feel better, but my 2022 came (from the dealer) without any glitches, not sure what the dealer got though.

Finally on the notion that Ford has a quality inspection problem. Things may have changed as it has been a long time since I got to sit in on a friend's company's Zero Defect Training class (a class on what Zero Defects manufacturing was all about).

At that time, Zero Defects Manufacturing wan't about finding problems with inspections as they crop up. Zero Defects is designing products and the process of building them so they can't be produced with defects. It isn't about inspection.

I have a bubble in the paint on the roof that looks like yours on the tailgate. I didn’t find it until way later though.
I’m going to check the roof now lol

I left it. Took that picture right before the post. I can’t see it, and it’s been like that for almost three years now. It hasn’t changed. My truck was built Dec ‘19.

That sucks when you get a new truck and the paint is shit. One thing to consider though is the factory clear coat is baked on the entire truck truck at temps higher than their paint booth can achieve at the dealership, and doing a spot repair could cause issues down the road. It's up to you whether the defect is worth sanding down and then color matching that area. Something smaller than about 3 mm would not be worth it in my book.

Personally I was lucky, my paint and metal seem pretty good. It's been a great truck otherwise. Good luck with yours! ?

thats My concern forsure. I would leave it, if that means some sort of compensation lol
Ive heard great things about these trucks and I had a sport trac before that I lifted and I loved that thing so as long as everything else mechanically is good then I’ll be happy with this ranger forsure.

Man, I’m glad I never looked at my truck that close. I’m sure everything I’ve done outweighs blemishes from the factory at this point. Truck’s been reliable after 50k fairly hard miles though.
i just expect it to look a certain way brand new from factory, blemish and damage free.
After that, what happens is fair game lol

You are NOT being too picky. When you are paying $50k +/- for a NEW vehicle, it needs to be new / perfect. I would NOT accept that vehicle no matter how much you "wanted" or "needed" it.

My 2022 lariat tremor (cactus grey) was 99% "perfect", and I can assure you I AM more picky than you (no offense / not being "that guy"). I did not have to order mine, it was sitting on the lot, and I didn't "need" it. So... I gave it the fine tooth comb, even sliding around on the ground under the truck at the dealer, having them re-wash it while I was in the cab to look for leaks, etc., etc. I'm sorry yours, and I guess others, have such blatant flaws. Because to me even one of those items would not be acceptable.

Now.... let's see what they screw up on my less then 1k miles Ranger when they do the windshield recall in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. That issue, is just FORD being cheep (again). They've been putting windshields in things for a long time now, and cheeping out on the adhesive and proper installation is pretty sad.

Exactly, the work from factory is what makes me shocked since the lack of work ethic is clearly shown. Just not sure how it passes a quality check lol

I’m not worried about the recall work or tech work at later dates as my husband is a mechanic at ford.

That is not acceptable at all and unfortunately it is the new normal, ford is having a lot of trouble finding companies and trucks to ship vehicles so they are having to subcontract out to less than reliable and desirable companies because they have no choice and even doing that vehicles are sitting for ridiculous amounts of time at the factory see dirt mountain for the broncos a lot of them are waiting on chips yes but many are ready and waiting for the trucks so that will also cause problems back when I first started it would be at most a day or two from the vehicle being done to being shipped now it can be weeks or even months and that doesn't even account for them also having to sit for god knows how long at the rail yards because of the same shortage of trucks. Make sure everything is chronicled and logged by you and the dealer before you take delivery and make sure you get signed delivery confirmation forms that itemize the issues and the fixes the dealer and by extension ford owe you
All two sentence's? so hard to read.

Must be the new 'woke' workplace. Stopped hiring people based on their qualifications. Question 'Wokism'? Get called a bunch of bad names and employment terminated. Ask me how I know....
