  1. How many people had to take it back for warranty repairs?

My '22 XLT Crew, only time back to dealer was the windshield recall. I will be taking it back in the next few weeks to investigate what the consensus here from people who have been there and done that is likely some amount of transmission work, hopefully under warranty.
  2. Ability to turn off auto stop/start

The tester I have does test for IR. The unit I bought a while back was top rated by Project Farm among many. It gave my battery a clean bill of health. I decided that @Dr. Zaius likely was on to something as short of another malfunction in the ASS system, it almost certainly was the battery...
  3. Ability to turn off auto stop/start

That was my first thought, so I pulled out my battery tester and ran the tests, it indicated it was good. I also have a Ctek charger that I occasionally hook up to the battery. The plug that is hard wired to the battery has an LED that indicates voltage level and it always is blinking green...
  4. Transmission starts shifting roughly, then issues go away.

I think the thing that got me thinking about it doing the "re-learn" thing and then it smoothing out was around the same time, I did my morning routine of turning off ASS. After the last time I turned it off, the thing stayed off. That started making me thinking maybe Ford did an over the air...
  5. Transmission starts shifting roughly, then issues go away.

Certainly you are right. Of course, my schedule just ramped up with a couple of trips coming soon and another hip replacement in July. I need to get in it soon. :curse:
  6. Transmission starts shifting roughly, then issues go away.

I really don't like my local dealer service department. The one up the road a ways is a lot better, I will make an appointment and have them take a look at the TSB's, etc.. Unfortunately right now it shifts like butter, so they almost certainly will think anything it might be is probably...
  7. Transmission starts shifting roughly, then issues go away.

I had a strange issue recently. One day I noticed the transmission shifting roughly, having a hard time deciding when to downshift on grades, clunky between some shifts, etc. I thought well here it comes, the dreaded transmission issues I have heard so much about. In the last few days, I...
  8. Ability to turn off auto stop/start

My ASS would only disable if I hit the button after each start. Recently, I hit that button after a start and ASS has been off ever since. I have no idea why that happened. I checked the battery level, checked for codes, nothing is plugged into outlets, no tow mode, etc. I have no idea why...
  9. 2019 Ranger XLT RWD- OBD codes: P0141 and P2096

Sounds like your downstream O2 sensor (the one behind the catalytic converter) might be bad. You can test the heater circuit of the sensor with a multimeter.
  10. AMP Power Steps

OK, so one final post on this thread, hopefully somebody will find what I learned about my install helpful. I could not shake the notion that my issue was primarily an alignment issue (however slight) that caused my steps to not fold all the way up on the front half of the steps (happens on...
  11. AMP Power Steps

It is unfortunate you got the impression that I don't like the AMP Powersteps as nothing could be further from the mark. I think it is because I have had such good luck with them in the past that have stuck with the process as long as I have on my Ranger. The truth is I believe the problem...
  12. AMP Power Steps

Just another update on my AMP Powersteps. First, the mudflaps work pretty good at keeping the mud off the sides of my truck. Winter is coming, so they will get the acid test soon. Alas, there is enough mud getting slung up on the Powersteps still, that I can't keep them clean and lubed well...
  13. Throwing P0300 code

I was thinking along the lines that you may have gotten some knockoffs, etc. A while ago there were a few forums people were complaining about fake brands. If I recall the way people were nailing it down were the gaps being all over the place out of the box. Also subtle mistakes on...
  14. Hankook Tires

If I recall correctly, Hankook had some issue with dry rot and cracking on some lots.
  15. Throwing P0300 code

I believe P0300 is a random misfire (versus say P0301), so my guess would be a problem with the new plugs.
  16. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Filled a few more chips in the paint up front, caused by the chip seal demon, with the Mr. Colorchip kit. Works pretty good once you get the hang of it.
  17. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Took her up on a very washboarded dirt road to get to a trail head we like. Hiked a 7 mi loop, gained about 1400’ (2000+ if you count the up and down). Up to 30lbs in my pack these days, good sweat before we reached the top. When we got back she was covered in dust (normal), the double...
  18. Bad day for the Ranger

So, the touch up paint came today. I think it came around the horn to get here, but it did get here. ? Just finished the install of the new standby generator, so tomorrow I will fill my first paint chip. Wish me luck.
  19. Bad day for the Ranger

Just bought the kit. Thanks again, I feel better already. :)
