One of the many reasons I packed up my family in 2019 and left that hell hole. I’ve never looked back once for anything.
Nope he's wrong it's terrible. The entire Central Coast is a terrible place to be. San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego are much better options.
Wow, I hope that is sarcasm. If it’s not, you haven’t been to the Central Coast, or at least the nice areas of it. Santa Cruz is a little crazy, but Cambria is nice, San Luis Obispo, Pismo, Avila Beach-all very nice places.
I understand that there are a lot of California haters out there, but realize that there are a lot of people in California with similar views as you-just because they get live in California doesn’t mean they agree with what is going on. It’s not nearly the paradise that once was, but there are still tons of people willing to pay huge prices for houses and deal with the taxes to live here. Besides, a lot of the western states are getting very expensive and crowded as well. I was born and raised here, but after I graduated college I moved to Utah in the mountains for a few years, and a job brought me back to California. I thought we would move back to Utah, but the town that I lived in I can’t recognize because it’s grown so much. Every state has its problems so pick your poison. I was born here, and will die here. but in the meantime, I’ll enjoy theride.

Trying to push people into EV's....then when 25% of the population is in EV's they'll realize they just lost 25% of their gas tax revenue........then they'll create an EV charging tax.
As long as we get to keep our crappy roads! TOTAL SARCASM?

It's either the Central Coast or Hawaii for me.

I have to laugh at some of these posts. Clearly folks just parrot what they hear on the news and haven’t lived here. Honestly the price of gas really makes little difference to most people. The real everyday problems California has like crappy roads, traffic, questionable quality of education never seem to be the ones folks point out. I suppose that’s because all places haves problems like these and they are just mundane.

Probably will shock most of these guys but I actually feel really lucky to live where I do.

By the way, nice view!

Well, we don't have Tornado's, Hurricanes, (which knock out power for days or weeks.Texas?) or Blizzards. The weather is good all year for the most part, you don't have to live on an earthquake fault (stupid to do so), kind of like living in Tornado Alley where every couple of years you get your house blown away. I tried to go to Florida one time and had to change plans due to a hurricane. My point is most everywhere is both good and bad, our bad is the government unfortunately, other than that its a great place.

According to the news (doesn't matter what you watch or where you watch it) the only place that matters it the North East.

So there is that...

Nope ain't gonna happen. I'm good with the Golden State!

I spent a lot of time in Laguna Beach growing up (its nothing like that horrible show) and it was great. Now, you couldn't pay me enough to live there. All places have their problems but CA seems to be one of the worst. The fact that CA is thinking about something like this is absolutely ludicrous. I lived there for 10 months about 12 years ago and I couldn't take it. The cost of everything was crazy. Of course, now Colorado is getting to be just as bad.

My point is most everywhere is both good and bad, our bad is the government unfortunately, other than that its a great place.
This is an accurate statement. Everywhere is awesome and sucks to live. Except Colorado. Colorado is horrible and people need to know that so they don't move here.

Actually Newsum didn't raise the gas tax, CA law adjusts the gas tax every July 1st based on inflation, this year inflation is high and so is the adjustment, which is normally .01 to .03, add in the extra charge from the gas companies for 'summer blend' low pollution fuel and there you have it.
I love where I live, foothills of the Sierra, 90 miles to Lake Tahoe, 45 miles to the Rubicon Trail, hunting, fishing, camping, 120 miles to the coast and great beaches.
I have lived in Texas, Georgia, VA, and NC, still like it here. And really, I have enough $$$ where I don't care about gas prices, it is what it is and there isn't anything I can do about it so bitching will not help. I could bag on other states, but I don't live there so what's the point, either like where you live or move, you have that right.

I'll take something I can see coming days or week away vs the ground suddenly shaking under me.

Most of what you see on the news is typically isolated to where the eye comes in with the most wind damage.

So normally a day at most without power unless you live on the coast or it is a monster. During Ike everyone had power around me in 72 hours but a missing part kept my house and 4 others dark for a week. Hooray borrowed generator.

Not counting the slow moving asshole that was Harvey... I kept power but a lot of people near me got water in their house.

Ahhh the ole political bait and switch. We are gonna give some of you a grand in inflation relief. But we are raising gas taxes. So everything reliant on gas now goes up to cover the tax increase resulting in further inflation and a negative offset.

Keep it up California! Just increasing my property value in Arizona.

I have a SuperCab tonneau I'm basically letting go if interested. Extang Xceed
Thanks, but I am all racked up with a Front Runner bed rack, the folding wouldn't work. Plus my spare tire hangs underneath and is below the bed rails.
