Yes, stored at 350 bar (10,000 psi) in a 5KG (10lb) tank. I have stored compressed air at 5,000 psi in a run of the mill 100cuf steel scuba tank, so double that in a purpose constructed tank is not hard (there are more than a few of these on the road). Hydrogen does not normall explode when the tank is punctured, but ignites and burns as an almost invisible high pressure plume, very hard to see, have to look for the heat shimmer, which makes it so dangerous for 1st responders.
Utilities put a chemical called mercaptan in natural gas so that leaks can be instantly detected, as natural gas has negligible odor itself. I would think it should be possible to add some sort of smelly agent, and/or one that makes burning H2 visible.

Good idea, but not sure how such a chemical would react to or inhibit the catalyst in the fuel cell that reacts to the hydrogen to produce electricity.

Baking soda- it neutralizes everything.

I bet I am the only guy on here to have met Gavin Newsom face to face, the rest of you guys/gals, just consider yourself lucky.

I was a member of his Ground Floor Club. This distinction was reserved for those dumb enough to be his earliest donors in his first mayoral race in San Francisco.

I gave him money to help his campaign for two primary reasons. The first was his platform of eliminating cash payments to the homeless and taking that money to establish better treatment and care for these same people, his so-called “care not cash” campaign promise.

The second reason I donated was his opponent appeared a far worse alternative to my mind, a fellow named Matt Gonzalez (at the time running as a socialist).

After he won his election, members of his Ground Floor Club were invited to celebrate at a party thrown by him for himself. At the time he was still married to Kimberly Guilfoyle. My first impression after meeting him was, "he is a good looking kid, empty suit for sure, but was smart enough to marry a bright woman, so we shall see."

The stroke of genius that got him elected the first time was his "care not cash" platform which was the brain child of his campaign manager, Alex Tourk. That stroke of genius launched his political career and was repaid when Gavin had an affair with Alex's wife.

On the care not cash plan, general assistance payments were largely eliminated (generally a good thing given where a lot of the cash went shortly after receipt), but homeless programs, while greatly expanded from a management perspective rendered little in direct care to the most needy among the homeless. A very large bureaucracy was built and when we left the budget for homeless programs for the 49 square miles that is the City and County of San Francisco hovered around $275M per year. The actual care received by the most needy? Basically bupkis.

All of that is just to introduce you to Governor Newsom, a man who has designs on the White House. Lucky right?

In retrospect, I gave money to the wrong guy, because even though I am sure his polices would have not resonated with me politically, at least I would have given money to the guy with the higher IQ, by I am guessing, call it 50 points. :(
I never donate anything to thier cost, I went to high school in that city and saw everything they destroyed. Like you said they create bureaucracy, that's what they do. I left the city when I joined the US Marines and never came back, I have witness and live is socialism country and they were never good.

This will sound rude and I do not mean to offend others. However, it is difficult for me to feel bad for California. For decades California has been off the rails in terms of politics and finances. Folks that live, work, and vote in California are getting the fruits of what has been planted. I know many people do not like and did not want or support the things happening in California. That is fine, I understand. But, do not leave California and go to other states and bring the same flawed ways and issues with you. Things that are happening in California and now other states as well do not even seem to be things that could be true in the United States. I cannot speak for others but I can say Texas has had more than enough of influx and is starting to suffer with the same problems the west coast has. I expect Texas to be in bad shape ten years from now. Do not know where I would flee too lol. As far as forced EV goes I will not risk a comment, I like the folks here too much.
I too from SoCal, lots of us don't agree with the politics here, the main people that live in big cities like in the bay area and LA have different agenda. I doubt majority of them have experience living in a socialism country. I grew up overseas and experience this and it's not a good thing it's a bad thing. Back to our electric vehicles topics, California can not sustain the power grid if everyone are charging their vehicles plus in SoCal, this place is a desert and this folks who has an EV won't be able to get away if power grid goes down.

honestly at this point i dont think any state has the capacity for everyone to go to electric cars. I fear this will hurt people and business is the future not just in California, but all over.

Absolutely, I'm not sure what their mentality is, they think electric is clean and cheaper than fossil fuel it is not. The batteries alone to make those electric cars are more harmful to the environment. The solar panels are made of silicone, diodes which comes from the finest sand in the world and you can find those in the middle east area. I owned a hybrid car for my daily driver when I was driving 200miles both ways to work and home and my daughter in college has it now. Anything that humans designs are harmful to the environment, the buy products that we make will cause some kind of destructions but earth will recycle it self , earth will clean itself , it will cool down and heat up, it been that way for thousands of years. I don't believe in this climate changes BS, this the main reason they push EV's.
But to save money from fuel cost maybe I'll go hybrid.

2035 isn't the year when all CA vehicles are mandated to be electric. Chevron will still be selling fuel for ICE vehicles in the state. Current EV vehicles are stronger and faster than their ICE counterparts. I'd suspect that the motorheads will be tired of loosing on grudge night to another EV and will slowly accept the tech. Sure there will be the holdouts but they'll be left in the dust. The charging network will increase capacity for the additional vehicles. It's the architect leading the engineer.

Actually personal ICE vehicles account for 41% of C02 emissions globally.

And yet companies push employees back to the office to sit in a cubicle. Even government employees are being pushed to return to office work.

Well, they do have all of those expensive buildings and office space to fill. Most people working from home, like my son, do not spend the 8 hour work day actually working. I haven’t noticed any less traffic congestion since the lessening of Covid restrictions in my area.

The brakes will get slammed on hard once folks electric bills start eclipsing their mortgages. Not to mention getting mechanical work done to them. The current car mechanics will be starting from scratch to know what to do with them. Then comes the environmental impacts. It starts with raw materials needed and how their procurement thru their lifecycle’s to the recycling. Sure we can build them, then what? Oh! Talk to any fireman about their concerns here. These things are not easily extinguished and can get you killed not only from toxic gas but electric discharge. Better stop driving that Tesla and pay off your school loans eh!
