  1. 3,500 Mile Comparison: Taco v Ranger

Thank you for your honest review! I havenā€™t read all of the posts yet, but I would add that it didnā€™t look like you had a Tremor and you felt that the ride quality in the Turd was better than the Ranger. I have had full-size pick ups, half ton 4x4 crew cabs for 30+ years until I bought this...
  2. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Went to the beach yesterday. The sand was firm from the rain, so we did some exploring.
  3. Backroadranger

Welcome to the forum from rainy Central California! I will throw in my 2 cents. I have thought about a tune, but the truth is, our trucks have quite a bit of power in their stock form. I have had the truck for a couple of years now, and since its my daily driver, there isn't motivation for...
  4. HVAC / Climate Control- Issues - Operation - T-Shoot and Breakdown

Ford mechanics should look at this for a reference.
  5. Not an electronic genius

It would possibly make sense if you were building a rod, or adding a lot of misc devices (lights, stereos, etc.) but in a new vehicle of the lot, it doesnā€™t sound right.
  6. Anyone say, I should have purchased a different truck?

Think of it this way - us older guys have driven a lot of different vehicles and figured out what we want in a truck. Most of us probably did a little research and ended up in a Ranger. Either we are wise, or a little senile- I havenā€™t figured that out yet.
  7. Predictable increase of backcountry motor vehicle issues

As much as we would like to think that there is an answer, there isnā€™t. I thought of it over and over, and the only person that you can be responsible for is yourself. It is what our society has become.
  8. Dust getting in the shell-

I donā€™t have it sealed. But you guys gave me a starting point, thanks. Most of the dust was in the back of the bed, so Iā€™m going to start there.
  9. Dust getting in the shell-

Has anyone "dust-proofed" the inside of their shell? I have an ARE on my Tremor, and I took it on a 12 mile backroad trip, and the dust was getting in the back, almost like it was coming underneath the hatch in the back. Any suggestions?
  10. New Tremor

Here in California I get about 19 mpg- our blends are different (and expensive) but that probably cuts the mileage.
  11. Tremor VS Waldoch Rampage

Another vote for the Tremor. I have had one for a year and a half, and absolutely love it. Iā€™ve driven 4WD pickups for work in the mud for over 30 years and this truck is very capable of the things you mentioned. I wouldnā€™t go with one of those third party modded trucks.
  12. Long Range America Tank

I just hope itā€™s not designed by the same guy that built that submarine.
  13. '23 Ranger vs '23 F150 XLT

I have to say I love my Tremor as well. The Taco guys brag that they will get 2-300,000 miles on their trucks - but the have to put up with an uncomfortable, underpowered vehicle all that time, and I don't know many people that go more than 150,000 miles on their trucks anyways. I much rather...
  14. Another transmission thread (yay)

Just my 2 cents- my ā€˜21 has always shifted fine, but I go back and forth between D(on the freeway) and S (just about everywhere else). I do notice when I run regular it lugs badly so I try to keep 91 octane in the tank.
  15. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Went to Little Falls on the Cal Central coast, exploring above Lake Lopez. Lots of water, a fun little off-road adventure.
  16. Honest Unleashed Tuning review

This is one of the reasons I havenā€™t bought a tune - the truck came with a lot of power, I donā€™t have a need to add more. The shift points arenā€™t great, but ā€œ if itā€™s not broke, donā€™t fix it ā€œ. Iā€™m not a Ford technician, and donā€™t want to be. Just my two cents.
  17. Accidentally Got 87 vs. 93

93? No such animal in California. 91 is the best we have.
  18. Dash Warning?

The lane assist feature is totally worthless IMO and almost dangerous- but the cost of its development is added into the price of the truck, unfortunately.
  19. NOT A GOOD ENDING TO A HIGH SPEED DRIVE IN ONTARIO CANADA, SHE DIDN'T DIE BUT LOST A FOOT SADLY

A few years ago, I coached youth football. When four of the kids I coached were in high school, they were driving like idiots and hit a pole and cut the car in half. Three of them died, and one walked away. Sadly, a couple years later, the surviving kid died in a similar accident less than a...
