Got off work at noon......hopped in the XLT and headed north to the Locker. Loaded up 753lbs of prime grade Nebraska Beef! The XLT drove really well on the way home. Back end was down a bit from the weight but no problem! Beef is all put away in the 2 freezers.......
breaking the grill out for some T-Bones saturday night if anyone is traveling thru!
Oh man, that sounds fantastic! Enjoy your t-bones, I'll be living vicariously through you! Yum!!!

Dee Zee damper arrived today and I put that on. I didn't realize how much I missed having tailgate assist.
Welcome to the club Jason! Normally I'd ask to see a picture but what the heck, I'm on vacation and in a good mood tonight. ?

I almost forgot. Here's the new card you need to carry around with you now.

Tailgate dampers are like a little cowbell. Could always use more cowbell!

After going with 33s and beadlocks my brakes weren't to my liking. I've had good luck with Powerstop in the past so I went with their Z36 pads.

I got stuck on the rears, because I thought the pistons went in clockwise. Incorrect, counter clockwise. So I had to buy a new left hand threaded tool.

On these you have to put a lot of pressure on the piston while winding because of the parking brake. My trick was to remove the rotors and then reinstall the calipers sans rotors. That helped me not have to juggle so much.

I know, I know…on pg. 929, I said I was going to be done for a while. No sooner did I say that and I get an email advertising these Havoc HS2 steps. The rest as they say is history. I’m not even going to bother fooling myself anymore.

I have same ones on mine! Love the placement of the steps. They are perfect for stepping in and d9nt get in the way when getting out.

So did a thorough cleaning today. The other thread on undercarriage get me horned up lol to do a good cleaning. It was not very dirty just some light mud, but once I looked had to clean. Just backed truck up onto my little curb in my carport and went to town. Smooth wet tile makes it really easy to slide around under the truck.

I sure wish my garage was so spotless - it looks like you’re cleaning it in your living room.

Getting the underside of the vehicle must be a Philippines thing. Have you been hanging out at @viperwolf ‘s place?

Speaking of Viperwolf….I haven’t seen him on the forum lately. What’s up Alex? We miss hearing stories of your Everest. I hope all is well, but I will track you down if necessary.

****quickly opens a new window and does a Google Images search on ranger5g for clues. :inspect:

Actually here in the Philippines your carport is almost always nicely tiled. Makes for a clean parking and to get underneath. But wet smooth tile, not great to walk on lol. It can be dangerous. But works well to slide around under the truck to clean. Yes I am a tad OCD when it comes to cleanliness.

Installed the Ford High Performance Engine Cover. Let’s just say, the increase in performance is amazing. With this modification, I can almost keep up with my kid’s 5.0.

Changed transfer case and rear diff fluid. 22 Tremor with 3200 miles. T/c was dark with a little fuzz on magnet. Rear diff was filthy with plenty of +fuzz on magnet but no big chunks. Front diff looked like new. Glad I checked them.

I had the same experience on my new Tremor.

Front differential looked new.

My rear diff looked like old fluid.

You should definitely change the rear diff fluid and transfer case after the first 1000-2000 miles.

Accessories I ordered with my $500 accessory credit arrived this week, so I had more mods to install.

Let's start with the CaseVault insert for the center console. As we all know, our center consoles are pretty good size, and now I can, with a reasonable confidence, lock up my EDC if I need to enter a place I am not allowed to carry. The lock is considered CalDOJ compliant, which meets/exceeds Colorado Safe Storage Laws for firearms

My other order was for the Ford Performance diff cover. No, it doesn't have a drain plug, no it doesn't hold my fluid. So why buy it? Because its stronger than factory, has some integrated cooling, and I am not worried about bashing it against a rock. My recommendation, for anyone doing diff work, is drop the spare. I had issues trying to get the new cover up in place, and once I dropped the spare, everything was immensely easier. I am kicking myself for not dropping when I started the removal of the factory cover.

One thing to note, is I did this work with about 1500 miles on the rear diff, and there was some good size particulate that came out. It had me slightly worried, and am going to keep an eye on it. The fluid looked nasty for 1500 miles as well, which I am assuming is because of the break-in on the gears

Inside of an FX4 Locking diff for good measure

And because I failed to take a photo upon completion, here's after about a 15 mile test drive. Just barely peeking out from underneath the spare

Cleaned up some of my rear bed wiring. Was driving me nuts.

I also did something with some inactive bumper lights I've had mounted for some time. I wired them directly to the 7-pin harness so they activate with reverse. My rear rack lights are still controller operated.
