I would be interested in one too. I had mine replaced on warranty 5 months ago and the new one is already breaking apart. Very crappy, cheap material.

That doesn't bode well for mine. I'll let Ford replace it with another craptasic one then probably replace it and the shifter boot on my own.

Redline boot showed up today. Will try to install it tomorrow. Any suggestions on what glue to attach it to the ABS plastic of the clip on ring bit would be welcome. Was thinking some contact cement might work but i think I'll want something that doesn't set instantly so I can make adjustments.

That looks nice. Let us know how it goes. Is Red line going to make these available for all?

If they do, or if anyone offers a proper solution, they can take my money. I could get a warranty replacement (truck is only 8 months old and ~8k miles) but I'm really not interested in replacing junk with junk. I'd also like for the boot to actually be pliable in colder weather and not interfere with putting the brake handle back down. What kind of "testing" did Ford do on this genuine part...

I would be in too. Besides being better quality, it will probably give the truck a nicer look.

I used some Barge contact cement (link below) to bond some tanned deer hide to a Kydex holster. It's definitely on there !! I roughed up the Kydex with a bur (like the pic below) to give it some bite. This contact cement is highly recommended with lots of reviews....it worked for me. If the leather soaks up the first coat (mine did), just apply another coat, let it get tacky, and stick it together--just make sure it's positioned good !!!

These are Typhoon burs and are pretty aggressive and only took a few seconds to roughen the surface.

EDIT---I'm in for a real leather one too :like:

? Looks identical to the OEM boot. Guess I'll be going to the local upholstery shop for pricing today...

Do you have info to contact Redline with? It is not on their website yet, but I thought I would reach out and get one made for me. What was your cost, if you dont mind?

Did you install this yet, why do you need glue? The website says "very easy to install." Using glue is not what I would call very easy.
