It's always fun to see the look on others when this little 4cyl Ranger either blows them away or holds it own against the full size trucks. I don't care if the Jeep isn't a speed demon. I'm going to wheel it and to cruise topless nice and slow.
Looks like you dropped the, "in the right hand lane.";)

Having all three of those similar type builds lined up really makes the Bronco aesthetics pop. Love the nostalgic feel of the older Bronco look but re-designed with more straight edges. The Land Rover, as much as I like that blue.... It looks like the chubby brother of the Bronco. And the Jeep, well Jeeps look good but seen them for decades.

Dave’s (@AzScorpion) duties are not complete until he convinces me to turn to the dark side. There are moments when I feel something like maybe a slight weakening. Don’t give up on me, Dave. You still have work to do here.

Finally had time today to go to my local Jeep dealer and test drive a new Jeep. They actually had two Rubicons in stock, one was a 4dr the other a 2dr both had the 3.6L, 8 speed trans. on 33's. I got to take it out on the highway and got it up to 75 mph without the notorious death wobble I've heard about. It did drive very smooth, steering was tight and responsive and comparable to the Bronco I drove. Seat position was very good and comfortable and it had a good view over the hood where you could see the whole front end.

The rear cargo in the 2dr is really small and looks smaller than the Bronco 2dr. It got me thinking it might be better getting the 4dr in the event I one day get rid of my Ranger it would be a nightmare for someone to get in the rear seats of that 2dr and having the extra room for trips would be nice too. The 4dr was obviously a little smoother too with the longer wheel base.

Is anyone familiar with both the engine options which are the 2.0L 4cyl turbo or the 3.6L V6 e Torque? Thoughts? I'm leaning more towards the 3.6L V6 which I though drove good and it's been around a lot longer and in many of their models. Anything else I should be looking at or adding?

All in all I wouldn't be disappointed driving this and it was surprisingly way better than I anticipated. Another plus is that I could get it somewhere around 60-90 days as Jeep PRIORITIZES customer orders BEFORE dealer stock. Hear that Ford! Now I'm just waiting for a couple dealers to get back to me with their below invoice pricing.

Here's the two choices so far in 4dr
Hey, Dave, sorry to hear that Ford is giving would-be Bronco owners so much trouble, and I don't blame you a bit for looking at other options. I am also very interested in the Bronco but, with only one driver in the family and a one-vehicle garage, I don't mind waiting a few more years until all this gets sorted out and we have new generations (and Raptors) of Rangers and Broncos to choose from. I just hope that the Rubicon isn't like a "gateway drug"--just a few puffs, and the next thing you know, you're driving a Gladiator!

Al, I'll never give up on you buddy! As I've said before if it takes me 'til the day I die you will be converted over to the dark side.:bandit:

Marc, no worries there personally I think the Gladiator is ugly and would never give up my Ranger for one. I'm just looking at the Jeep as a possible bridge for now until Ford sorts out this mess. If I like it great if not I'll sell it. As much as I disliked my Tacoma one thing good about it was they hold their value and Jeeps are the same. I'm still going to wait a couple weeks and read up more on them and make sure I'm not jumping the gun.

Thanks Alex. I sub to T&C videos but these TFL ones usually pop up on my Youtube page. That's what makes this whole thing so hard because the Bronco is a really great vehicle and well designed. It's Ford who's messing this whole launch up for us customers. Now there are many who are receiving theirs only to find out their slimy dealers are adding $10K markups. Yes, it's partially their fault for not having everything in writing and signed but this whole process is a complete mess. I really hope this isn't the sign of things to come for all future ordering.

The 3.6 Pentastar is a fantastic engine. Jeeps hold their value.

I'd get the Jeep, drive it for a few years, by then the Bronco will be more available and cheaper and bugs worked out, hopefully.

Then get your Bronco, sell the Jeep for little loss.

That's what I'd do.
This is 100% what I'd do as well. That 3.6 is a workhorse.

Can't drive what you don't have. If the supply of the Bronco continues to be slow-going, at least you'll have some fun in the mean time.

Dave, it’s not that I haven’t noticed this thread - it’s just that I’ve been too distraught to follow it. I showed part of it to my therapist and she told me to avoid it as much as I could for my own sake. It’s a good thing I didn’t share all of it because she has a Bronco and what good would she be to me if we were both dealing with this news?

So, if I’m not “liking” some of the posts, it’s because I’m either
  1. Not following it any longer
  2. Meditating to control my angst
  3. Following it but just won’t let myself hit that ? icon.

Your thinking about it, I just finished my build sheet at the dealer for a 2022 rubicon. Will pay the order fee tomorrow.
What dealer are you going with? I'm waiting for one more to get back to me on the east coast.

Jim Marsh Jeep in Vegas. Found them on wrangler site listing dealers in the country that sell under invoice. Today they don’t do 8% under invoice like they use. Now they charge invoice which is approx 5.5% under MSRP. $2000 non refundable order fee to get started and that 2k applies to build cost.

All their charges are exactly as on the order guide for the 2022 wranglers. No dealer add ones, $495 doc fee, $30 title. Charlene is who you want to speak with, I have all her numbers if you need them.

The order section on JLwranglerforums.com has the order guide if you don’t have it yet. It list all options available from Jeep and the invoice and MSRP price tags.

Thanks for the info. Right now Granger is doing 4% under invoice and Gupton is 5-6% under invoice. I'm waiting for Gupton to get back to me so I can decide what to do. I don't mind traveling and we were planning a month long trip after getting the Bronco anyways.

Granger just laid out an estimated timeline on B6G according to their orders and time. At most they will have 200 allocations for 2022 and I'm roughly #550. That would put me somewhere around 3rd-4th qtr in 2024! Ford couldn't have messed this up anymore if they tried.

Jim @wanted33 Not sure if you've seen this yet posted on B6G. According to Zach these are the reservations they have at Granger and dates and times. According to this it looks like we're definitely going to be a 2024. Yours being 2nd-3rd qtr and mine (Oct 14th 2020 roughly #550) being 3rd-4th qtr. Or we could pay full msrp + an additional $10K-$20K markup and have them in 2022 from dealer stock.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/where-do-i-stand-in-line-granger-ford-customers.25938/

This question has been repeated a lot, so I figured it was time to show as simply as possible where our orders stand in increments, so you can have idea where you stand based upon your timestamp.

Just to recap. We were given an allocation of 11 the first month of 2022 production. So if you estimate 10/month we'd receive 120 Broncos in 2022. If you estimate 20/month, that gets us to 240 for 2022. All times are eastern.

Alex I did call Ford corporate last Monday and talked with the "Bronco specialist" Amanda. She was very nice and documented everything but I'm guessing it's getting filed under We Don't Care! Crazy to think with a October 2020 reservation timestamp I wouldn't receive it until 2024. I really hope this isn't the future of Fords ordering system.
