Might Have To Jump Ship From Bronco To Jeep

Dave, why not use the ranger for off-road/daily duty and get a sports car instead of another offroader? Lol. My 5-10 year plan has me doing something like that.

I thought about that too but I'd get in a lot more trouble with one. lol Besides I've already had several different sports cars and I've always wanted a Bronco or a Jeep for off roading and cruising around topless. Not that topless. Now living here I can do that 7-8 months out of the year and we have very little rain here too.

Brother, get the 2 door. I just spent 2 hours cleaning just the outside that big ass Jeep of mine, and it wasn't even that dirty. I cleaned the inside a few days ago so I would have to add another hour to the job today.

To clean the inside:

1. Remove doors.

2. Remove top

3. Reach 60 mph.

Result: Interior cleaned.

With Jeep the dealers told me that Jeep prioritizes customer orders over dealer stock which is a model every manufacturer should go by.

So far the best quote I have for the Red Rubicon 4dr with the 35" tire package is $52,800. That's comparable to the Badlands 4dr with SAS. The 2dr ones are coming out at $51,135 msrp so I'm guessing 4-5% under invoice should be around $47K-$48K? Will know better this week once the other quotes come in.

At least they're both priced close together and I'm price protected with the Bronco but I don't think it'll hold over until 2024-2025. lolWith Fords new 2022 pricing I think the Bronco is now more than the Jeep. It's only going to get worse too with inflation taking off. ?

I ordered a JLUR from Gupton in TN for 7% under invoice which was ~12.5% off MSRP on 6/11 and got it on 8/13 (9 weeks, 2 which was due to plant closing). From what I've heard they can't order 21s any longer but the 22 order book should be open or opening soon. Most likely, it would still take until end of January to come in since they won't start production until mid-December. Also, we went with the V6 with the etorque and have been pretty happy with it since it's a heavy block with wheels going down the road. MPG is 18 to 18.5 through our first 4000 miles with about half highway (75-80 mph), half city driving. Unlike my Ranger order I placed on 6/1 and have no idea when it will come in to this day, the wait wasn't too long and the process smooth.

We looked at the Bronco and Wranglers and decided to go with the Wrangler for three reasons:
1. We could actually get one.
2. We didn't think the tops of the Bronco were up to standard.
3. The Bronco will most likely have quality issues that arise over time as more and more of them reach customers whereas the issues like the death wobble among others things have been, for the most part, worked out on the JL.

I thought the Bronco had a nicer layout on the interior, size about the same as a Wrangler, and the exteriors of the two probably a personal view which I like the Bronco more and my wife likes the Wrangler more.

Going forward with 22MY Jeeps we are going to offer a base 5% off of factory invoice plus an additional 1% for dealer arranged financing. We didn't finance through them since we leased. The only hiccup I had was they had a lease rate and residual through US Bank which was higher than Chrysler Capital at the time. Once I asked my questions about residual and money factor, I knew what was going on. They were very upfront and I took it as they are so busy they have a routine and US Bank is apart of their routine for leases which they told me they don't do very often. They hadn't checked any other companies. I knew the residual and money factor due to forums on Edmonds so had it all calculated before I ever flew there.

I made them redo the lease agreement which took 5-10 minutes and then everything was great. Chrysler saved me $90 a month on the lease over US Bank. You may get the impression it's sketchy as my wife did and was freaking out in the finance office but they were very up front and they answered the questions I had about residuals and the money factor quickly and straightforwardly. From from my questions, they realized they messed up once I told them what I knew. Needless to say, be ready with your own financing and know what you should be paying. They did not mess with the pricing of the vehicle or add on anything. They sell tons of Jeeps via the internet/email and have a very high reputation to uphold. All in all, I would do it 10 times over.

The one thing that's tough is that if you use the tracker or jeep chat, you will eventually find out its there after you've waited x weeks but they have so many to sign/deliver you have to be patient for them to get you in. It's like Jeeps R Us especially now with so many lots practically empty. All the models and colors are typically there when they get a delivery.

In about 1 to 2 weeks afterwards, you will get the official paperwork in the mail that you can then take to get registered/licensed and such in your home state. They asked that I send them back a copy of the Michigan registration in a preaddressed/stamped envelope that they sent with the paperwork. I believe it is because you get a TN temporary tag.

All in all, great people plus a nice road trip home. Nice to get exactly what you want to pay for with nothing else and at an excellent price with no games.

Word of advice to get a response from Daniel, use the forums to know when he is in the office or not when you want to email him. I've seen many people frustrated he doesn't respond which I think is because he gets lots and lots of emails plus dealing with the customers coming in. If the lot is full, emails tend to get no response as he just doesn't have enough time. Also, in your email be very specific as to what you want and that you are ready to order. Detailed answers to questions take time and he doesn't always have it. He will send back an order sheet listing the vehicle and options along with giving you the pricing.

Good luck if that's the route you take. Waiting sucks but worth it in the end. I sold my wife's really nice Camaro so I had to deal with her for 9 weeks waiting for the Wrangler to come in. She doesn't regret it for a second. If I had sold her Camaro and got her a Ranger which I ordered, I would probably be sleeping in the Ranger by the time it came.

Great info thanks again. Everyone on the forum has nothing but good things to say about them. I've seen the pictures from when customers went to pick theirs up, it looks like the production plant there's so many Jeeps on their lot.

I'm sure after being out for a week his emails are filled so I'll give him a day or two and re-email him. Waiting is frustrating but at least I still have my Ranger and I know it's not going to be 3-4 years before receiving it. lol

Today's Bedtime Story: Hmmm...soooo, coming back home today (Over Pacheco Pass CA, 3 lanes uphill, so otherwise on 2) followed behind several cars being blocked by this red (color in pic) 4 door with non factory rims red/gold... doing maybe something in mid 70's in a 65...It was a new, not a copy, Rubicon like you are looking at. Further up, a Black GMC full-size crew cab and Black Ford full-size crew cab were dueling it out also.

The jeep never moved for anybody and tried to out pace if they tried to pass, which is usually enough for me to see what the Ranger can do that might be embarrassing.

Got to say, it did not keep up going up hill regardless of how many lanes he used to go around other cars trying to get back ahead of the Ranger, a GMC dressed up like a NASCAR truck and a Ford blacked out F150 with midnight black window tint. Oh, BTW, the GMC couldn't keep up either, but it still beat the Jeeper. Didn't have a chance to see what load was inside the Jeep if any, but I was two passengers, back seat loaded with stuff, had a 40lb bag of cat litter plus other stuff in bed. I think I went past the GMC big boy - they on left and me in the middle and merged over to follow the Ford guy over the crest ...

Jeep guy got caught behind 55 in 65 and never saw him again as the 18 wheelers had the right lane solid ?

Sometimes, it is fun to watch other's step in their own. Blockers, especially blockers who try and block when they should have just moved to the other empty lane...?

It's always fun to see the look on others when this little 4cyl Ranger either blows them away or holds it own against the full size trucks. I don't care if the Jeep isn't a speed demon. I'm going to wheel it and to cruise topless nice and slow.
