I did mine also. No issues. One of the first things I did after I got my truck home. Makes for checking the spare super easy.
I continue to be amazed at some of the ways people modify their vehicles. Not saying any of it is right or wrong, just being amazed.Might just be easier to access the spare if you modify your Ranger like these trucks.....

Yep...keep the valve stem from getting hit by rocks etc kicked up on the road or trail. I personally never experienced this but a few durability trucks experienced flat spare tires during testing... So really unlikey for most folks, but we sell trucks to more than "most" folks....Otherwise you have to drop it down to check the air pressure in it. Anyone flipped theirs? Any issues?
I always keep it that way to avoid problems with the valve stem when getting high centered in a mud hole.Yep...keep the valve stem from getting hit by rocks etc kicked up on the road or trail. I used something like this. Whenever I take it in to my dealer for "The Works", I ask them to check the spare and it's never been an issue for them.Otherwise you have to drop it down to check the air pressure in it. Anyone flipped theirs? Any issues?
This, plus having to drop it is the perfect time to clean and lubricate the hoist and cable.I always keep it that way to avoid problems with the valve stem when getting high centered in a mud hole.
Also, it makes me drop the spare and actually take a good look at it so that I can verify it's still in good shape.
Yes!! I do it at least twice a year. Nothing worse than having a flat and not being able to access your spare in the middle of nowhere. This, plus having to drop it is the perfect time to clean and lubricate the hoist and cable.
