Good luck dude. Interesting how this hits people so differently. I know people who had it and had no idea. No symptoms, nothing, just found out because they were required to be tested due to some business travel requirements. Others it hits like a brick wall and takes months, and one buddy, he had it bad and recovered physically fine but it's been 3 months and he still doesn't have taste and smell back.

Anyway your vacation comment... gulp. just got back with my family yesterday from Florida for a 5 day vacation. Me and my family are vaccinated, but still Florida has recently become a brewing hotspot again. So I'm hoping in a week none of us have any symptoms show up. We paid for our flights and hotel 2 months ago when it looked like things were turning around but covid rates started going up again.

We were in the Keys though, maybe that's less of a hotspot than continental Florida.
Yea it affects everyone so different. The first 9 days I was just tired more often but still went about my daily business. Then all of a sudden last Friday it felt like I just went 5 rounds with George Forman and I was knocked out!

Last Sunday woke up and had loss all taste and smell...great! Had an IV (mobile) nurse come by on Monday and gave the the max dose of what they had which is all sorts of vitamins and some thing for the nausea. She said it could take 2-3 months before getting taste/smell back.

Noticed Thursday while taking a shower I could smell the shampoo and went out into the kitchen and could smell the lunch my gf was cooking. Had a virtual Dr appointment that eve and even he was shocked I got it back so soon and confirmed what the nurse said usually it's 2-3 months.

Yes FL is a big hot spot now but hopefully you and your family are safe from it.

Ya vitaminD and C supposed to be really good. Forgot what the study was but that was a good indicator of severity of symptoms for people who didnt have enough D

FL definitely last place id visit now haha. They have man eating crack heads, alligator man, people who think covid is fake and on top of all that its humid and raining at the same time.
I live near the Florida line and go to the beach often, have been in many parts of Florida since this started. I distance myself when able and if not, wear my mask. I think if you take precautions, you should be fine. But, understand, I’ve seen COVID at it’s worst. I am serious about wearing my mask. I don’t think bad of others who don’t, but I do what I have to do to keep myself going.

Doc explained to me, when I had it over a year back, that pain you feel deep deep in your bones is actually really pain from deep deep within your bones. He said your marrow kicks into overdrive and actually gets hot from the consumption of calories while it churns out white blood cells and other immuno-stuffs (very scientific and medical I know). Also explains the energy loss too because your body is in marathon fighting mode.

So yes you had pain and fever radiating from inside your legs and arms and any other bone that has a hollow core to it. There is no way to describe that suck but to live it and then hope that the explanation is enough so that others don't ever really truly have to appreciate it.

Glad you are getting there. It is a slow ass recovery. Even after you have been back to work for a month or two you'll still be wiped out after work and on weekends.

BEST WISHES!

Dave:

Sorry to hear you tested positive for COVID. It is a bastard! Myself neither, would not wish it on my worst enemy.

I tested positive back in mid December 2020 and was off work for 2 Months, because of it. It seemed like I had one set of symptoms for a week and a half to two and then they would go away and I'd start with a different set. Again, this went on for the better part of 2 Months.

Today, all the symptoms are gone, except for the shortness of breath. I have to watch and not over exert myself, or I need a break to recoup.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope you kick that thing to the curb and for good.

Take care and stay safe!
