“We report the case of a 13-year-old boy admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit for impaired consciousness. He had received a single oral dose of ivermectin (0.23 mg per kilogram of body weight) to prevent scabies infection 2 hours 30 minutes before the onset of impaired consciousness. His condition worsened 6 hours after he received ivermectin, with persistent neurologic signs, including coma, ataxia, pyramidal signs, and binocular diplopia, as well as abdominal pain and vomiting. He was monitored for 48 hours; during this period, he had a fluctuating Glasgow score and normal results on paraclinical tests. He fully recovered after 48 hours (see the Supplementary Data 1 section in the Supplementary Appendix, available with the full text of this letter at NEJM.org).”

Had never heard of Ivermectin. Looks like some bad stuff.
Since COVID began, I’ve been taking Elderberry, Vitamin C and Zinc - intermittently, I admit. But I will say, that for the past 18 months, despite working with COVID patients, I’ve not had so much as a cold. I give credit to wearing my mask also.

I started feeling a little “off” a few days after we returned from vacation
Good luck dude. Interesting how this hits people so differently. I know people who had it and had no idea. No symptoms, nothing, just found out because they were required to be tested due to some business travel requirements. Others it hits like a brick wall and takes months, and one buddy, he had it bad and recovered physically fine but it's been 3 months and he still doesn't have taste and smell back.

Anyway your vacation comment... gulp. just got back with my family yesterday from Florida for a 5 day vacation. Me and my family are vaccinated, but still Florida has recently become a brewing hotspot again. So I'm hoping in a week none of us have any symptoms show up. We paid for our flights and hotel 2 months ago when it looked like things were turning around but covid rates started going up again.

We were in the Keys though, maybe that's less of a hotspot than continental Florida.

Ya vitaminD and C supposed to be really good. Forgot what the study was but that was a good indicator of severity of symptoms for people who didnt have enough D

My nephew is fully vax'd and went to Alaska to visit family. Went out to a bar un-masked along with everyone else, natch, and came home with covid. Mild case, just soar throat and sniffles. Another coworkers son went to summer camp and was exposed and tested pos, but no symptoms at all.

The answer is pretty simple folks. Get vax'd, at least that way you have a better chance to get through it, and keep wearing masks. I am, and I do.
