If you Google that part number, you can find them for around $1600 plus shipping if you are willing to install yourself.

I was wondering if his dealer price matched from the online price. I would prefer to pickup local to avoid the outrageous shipping cost.

Telling them the online price is a good incentive for them to discount it. That's what I did. The best online price I found for the hard folder was $854 ($812 plus $42 shipping) from Showalter Ford in Utah, so was very happy that they came down to it.

Putting a Bakflip MX4 folding hard tonneau on my Ranger when it arrives. I like the fact that you can open and close the tailgate with the cover not opened. Will put the Ford rubber bed mat and the hard plastic (bedliner material) tailgate piece Ford offers for the tailgate. Still some time before I get the truck. Finally got a build week of 3/11/2019. SMH it took this long...lol!

You'll love the MX4. I ordered one for my father in law's 2018 Tacoma and he is really happy with it.

Just checked the Ford accessory website today & it has been updated with many more accessories listed. Many more covers listed, didn't check about availability yet!

Called my the dealership today and they ordered the cover for me so it'll be ready to install when my vehicle arrives.

Can I recommend the weathertech tech liner for the tailgate? Might have to wait for them to produce it but it provides greater footing.

Well it came in today. It was a roll up not retractable. Sent it back for a hard fold up. The parts department did also have availability for the Embark retractable, but not for me at +2K.

I also want a Bakflip MX4 for my Ranger. I talk to Bak Industries every few weeks. At first they were saying they would be available in March. Now they're saying April.

I have been told they were available. Waiting until I can confirm my Ranger is physically built (week of 3/11) and then I will order my Bakflip MX4 cover. Been quoted a price so if they can quote a price, then it must be available...lol! Hope so! I have found them on a few sites listed for the Ranger.

Well my order for the Ranger hard folding cover is complete, came in yesterday. Believed to be the same as BakFlip MX4. No deals from the Ford dealer, they will install once my truck arrives.

Investigation into those on-line "deals" reflected the addition of shipping costs that came within $50 of the retail, and you have to install yourself.

I was quizzing my parts guy about this as I want the MX4 as well and he says this one is the same as a G2.

It's not the same as the G2. The G2 has the single rubber strip that goes over the edge of the tailgate after you close the tailgate first. I have that setup now on my F-150. You have to always close the tailgate first or you end up smashing the rubber strip. The MX4 has a new graduated rubber strip that allows the tailgate to be closed even with the tonneau closed.

Im aware of those differences, Im just sayin that he told me that you have to open the Ford one just like a G2 to close the tail gate.

I would be very happy to be proven wrong as they would give me a good price on it and the MX4 is what I would like.

I was going to go with one of the Bak Industries covers either the hard folding BakFlip MX4 or the hard rolling Revolver X4. I think the Revolver X4 looks awesome installed with a very flush look, and I think it’s a very cool and new concept; the problem is that they apparently have problems with letting water in and they have problems getting them shipped without substantial damage (according the reviews on their website). The BakFlip gets significantly better reviews, but I saw ONE review that may kill it for me. Someone complained that the BakFlip sustained very noticeable damage after a hail storm while the pickup it was installed on was undamaged. We get hailstorms at least once a week in Colorado Springs throughout June and July, so anything that is susceptible to hail is going to look like shit after one summer. Now I’m opening back up my search to make sure I haven’t missed a better option.
