Curious, what are your daily driving mpg with the tune?
So before I did anything to my truck I could average between 22-23mpg if I managed a light foot. Mind you I am in the rockies living at 10,000ft while working at 9,000ft and passing by 11,000ft going to and from work. When I put the lift and tires on my truck I lost about .5-1mpg as a guess because it has been so windy here(very annoying when trying to get accurate results). The lift with tires was 2 weeks ago. The tune got installed last week on Thursday. I have already driven quite a few miles in Colorado since the tune and so far have picked back my lost MPG and gained a little. I can now average about 24-25mpg as long as I dont get stupid(kinda hard not to with a tune). As a good example before anything was done it would take me about 3/4 of a tank to go to Denver and back home doing 5 over on average. Now it takes me closer to 1/2 a tank. A very nice difference if you ask me!! Now is this why I got the tune? Absolutely not. The reason i went with the tune is because of going with the lift and bigger tires. Since I was going to need to change the tire ratio i figured why not get some more power for compensation of power loss. For what I got I think it is well worth it.

I still have the FPP tune on order from Levittown Ford but it's been on back-order and not expected until sometime in June. The more I read about the other tunes, 5-Star and Livernois, the more I wonder if theres more bang for the buck with others. Aside from the warranty and the diagnostic features that comes with the Ford tune, it would be nice to know how the tunes really compare.

I'm looking for a good everyday performance tune (92 Octane mostly around here) and a kick in the ass tune when the time arises. I believe the Ford tune only comes with the one tune. I'm not even sure how the Ford tune will react between "Drive" and "Sport" modes....theres not a lot of feedback yet from users and the website doesn't go into that kind of detail. From what I've read, there are multiple tunes available from Livernoise and there's a different profile for when in Sport mode.

It's really hard to compare without buying a bunch of different tunes yourself and trying them all out. Even the HP and Torque dyno charts can be very misleading between the brands and many of them compare the Base run with 87 Octane and then the Tuned run on 93. How about a Base run on 93 and then the Tune on 93? Then I would really really know what 500-850 bucks is getting me.

Can the Livernois programmer hold more than one tune at a time. The Livernois tuner is 499 right now...seems like a great price. I don't see on the website where it states that it comes with one or more tunes. If only one, how much are the additional tunes.

This is the kind of shit my mind goes through when something I bought on April 19th, wont ship until sometime in June.

Time will tell.............

I received the following by request:
87 performance tune
87 performance tune w/ soft shifts
91-93 perf tune
91-93 perf tune with soft shifts
My stock tune

The folks at Livernois are great to work with and very accommodating. They even left my auto start/stop enabled for me.

Great experience. I believe many of the diagnostic features you see on the FPP tuner are available on the MyCal from Livernois as well.

I feel you there. I was originally going to go with the Ford Performance bur because of how long I was going to wait I said no thanks. I decided to go to Livernois primarily due to the price point. Here are a few things I do like about it just in case it helps you out for a decision. Every manufacturer will find a company that they either trust or gives them the better price point. With that said ford goes through Livernois for the tuner module(tuning is most likely different). The MyTouch Calibrator has all the same features the Procal4 has and I myself being an Auto Mechanic like how this has Factory tools from the Factory Scan Tool. For how many tunes it can hold? I dont know the exact answer to that but I think the max is 20. How many tunes do you get with Livernois? Right now you get 2, a low Octane(87-89) and a high octane(91-93). For towing I was informed that it is in the works right now and that if you are towing light you can use the low octane tune but if you are maxing the truck out to go to the stock tune. Hopefully it will be confirmed if we get the tune for no extra cost since Livernois is already aware most of us will tow with a truck but I won't hold my breath. The one thing I really like with Livernois is the fact I dont have to have a specific tune for the high elevation I am in unlike 5 Star. To many people in Colorado have had that issue with 5 Star and with todays technology that shouldn't be an issue. I hope this helps you make a decision.

Did you have to pay for the extra requested tunes? If so, how many came with the Tuner and how much was each additional? I see nothing on the Livernois website to answer either question. I added the tuner to the cart and went through the checkout process until the payment screen and still saw nothing as to what or how many tunes comes with the tuner.

I didn't pay extra for anything. I might have to pay for a tow tune when/if it becomes available but what I have now should be more than enough for just about everything I need. I can always go back to stock for towing if I need to.

Thanks for the feedback. I think having the optional tunes is more to my liking and the price cant be beat.

And you dont have to worry about having a garbage K&N air filter either(seen way too many problems with them).

I agree on the filter, I'd rather just put a good dry filter in. I've had K&N filters on my cars in the past but found no benefit and didn't like spending time cleaning and oiling them.

Thanks for yours and CO2Ranger's feedback. I'm going to get a refund on the FPP and order the Livernois product.

Wow thanks so much for the positive feedback and kind words guys! Glad to hear everyone has been enjoying the tunes and our service / offerings as well. Late last night after close I got word from the head calibrators that we have some new updates available for the Ranger including the towing specific calibration as well. Turn around times are running a bit longer this week due to the massive amount of new tune requests, but we will do our best to answer your email tune requests as quickly as we can. Anyone that was wanting to get the towing cal also please send over a request to make sure we get you guys taken care of too.

I saw a few questions that I also wanted to answer on here as well. All of our Mycal tuning devices include lifetime tuning and support so long as you own the device. This includes all current and future tune revisions as well. It's usually listed on the tuner page for each vehicle of the website, so thanks for bringing that to our attention. The device has not hit a hard limit for the number of tunes it can hold since different vehicle's tunes are different sizes so it varies. I've been saying 10+ tunes and it's estimated between 10-20 depending on the files of course. Hopefully this helps to clarify a few questions I saw this morning, but feel free to let us know if there's anything else I could help with and I'll try to keep an eye on here between tune emails which I'm sure we'll have a ton of today for the updated tow tuning release. Thanks again guys!

Also the suction cup mount is available on the website as another member mentioned. Here's the link. https://www.livernoismotorsports.com/product/LPP670000

Planning on doing some bolt on performance parts and the new turbo upgrade.
Will the Livernois tune take those upgrades into consideration as the intake/exhaust will be upgraded as well as the dp and intercooler?
Thanks

Yes they will, when you get the tuner and send in your tune request they ask for all modifications to the vehicle.

I'm on the verge of the purchase. Does this automatically void the drive train warranty?

Technically any tune that isn't backed by Ford is considered to void the warranty. But if there is a powertrain issue Ford has to prove that the tune caused the problem. If something breaks that isnt part of the powertrain then you are considered to be ok. I work at a Ford dealer and installed the tune. I havent had any problems and a few of my hire ups have made recommended I do certain things to avoid voiding said warranty.

Can you elaborate on what those things might be? Trying to stay out of trouble myself ?
