Hello,
Anyone know what this wire goes to? Mine was eaten by a rat! It's a single pink wire attached to a connector underneath the large positive battery terminal.

Should be an easy fix after I get some tubing to match the factory black non shrunk material and get the underneath connector out without losing it.

You're not the first one that had wires eaten by rats, squirrels, etc. Duke @DukeCanBuildit
just fixed his wires so might know what that one is.
I definitely feel his pain.

Hey Stan,

The nasty rodent got a 4-wire harness on mine - got my hood insulator too - sorry I can’t help with that wire but I sprayed Doktor Doom all over my engine bay and haven’t had any more trouble.

The Wiring Diagram is not 100% Clear on this but deduced that the only 20 Gauge wire going to the Battery Mounted Fuse Link is the Power (Battery Voltage) feed to the BMS sensor on the negative terminal.

I have deduced as follows:
By Connector #

C1135A = (4 Gauge) - Bolt On - Starter
C1135B = (20 Gauge) -Plug In - BMS Sensor (Note: Plugs in from Bottom) - Not Shown
C1135C = (1 Gauge) - Bolt On - Battery Junction Box (BJB) Power Feed
C1135D = (1 Gauge) - Bolt On - (Fused 225 Amp) - Generator
C1135E = (4 Gauge) - Plug In - (Fused 125 Amp) - Power Steering Control Module (PSCM)

I noticed it’s made in Canada - it might have ingredients that are banned by the EPA in the U.S.

Here in Canada, you can likely drink the stuff. :wink:

Airline Tech. Must be the BMS sensor has its a single power wire with a small connector underneath the power block. BMS- Battery Monitoring System.

First I've hear of Doktor Doom and if it works for you, I'm desperate to try it.

Thanks!

Update: Bah! Seems like you can't easily get the rodent version in the US ...

Can you pop the battery out and find the other half of the wire where it has dropped down in the gap?

Probably labeled as something else that the FDA marked as "Safe for Human Consumption" like all of our other foods with chemicals banned in other countries.

I use wire ties to place these rodent pouches under my hood. I also use them in my camper over the winter. I've never had a issue since I started using them. Available from Amazon.

@JGF. On the advise of a very good friend, I bought several of these. Even put one on top of my cabin air filter. Didn't at all, but the smell was strong. Four months later wife still complains.
A week ago another friend gave me a can of spray repellent. I soaked the rear carpet from side to side and placed a trap on the center hump. Next day there was a mouse in the trap, and every other day since.
It's well known rodents don't like light so a small light inside the truck and under the hood is my next approach although I have not recently had rodents attack my under hood wiring - yet! However, they have nibbled on the engine cover.
Getting tired of having to deal with mice almost EVERY DAY. I'm a little lazy but need to take the "stuff" on the bulkhead behind the rear seat and install some wire mesh over the existing air pressure relief openings in the lower each side corners. Pretty sure that's the entry point.
