I would personally like to see rear air vents, 60/40 split rear seat base, decent under-seat storage and better materials in the XLT (everywhere you look is rock hard plastic.) Climate control dials with hard buttons for the airflow direction would be good, as well as a digital drivers display like the Bronco and please give us transmission and oil temp gauges!
Also a 10+ inch screen and change the location of the lane guidance switch - keep hitting it when I go for the indicators. All in all, it's not a bad place to be especially considering the design is nearly 7 years old.
Here's a pic of the new Isuzu D-Max interior, generally considered to be best-in-class:

I'm sure the new Ranger will be a huge step forward.

this is like the 89th thread on bitching about the Ranger.

I bought a middle of the road truck....i am happy with the product as purchased.
I guess I might have blue collar expectations. it's a Ford FFS. not a Bently.
Should serve as feedback for ford lol. Though they probably don’t care, like any manufacturer

Personally I love my interior and the seats are super comfortable. I've never had to bring a small pillow for my back or adjust myself 100 times on a trip like I had to on my Tacoma.

As far as the climate controls, you all need to move where you only have to adjust it twice a year. March ac gets set to high and November it gets turned off. lol But in the rare instance I need to adjust it I just use the main touch screen.
It's probably why the smaller buttons don't bother me as I have automatic climate control and just set it and leave it. The bigger temperature control knob makes it pretty simple in my opinion.

I think my XLT interior is pretty good.

Hearing about how useless the lariat cluster is reinforces my decision not to get one, although, the LED headlights and heated mirrors would have been nice.

I don't find the seat to be as comfortable as others do. It gives me a sore neck after about an hour. I can live with it as long as I take a break now and then. Other than that a fold flat rear seat and larger under seat storage would have been great.

I don't understand the fetish of all the car reviewers to have plush material everywhere in a vehicle. The recurring comment of the ranger not having a padded dash really got me. How often are you touching the dash that it needs to be soft? As long as I don't get any reflections on the windshield that obstruct view and it's easy to clean I don't care.
Totally agree, their dash is also hard plastic and the reviewers love their interior. On Toyota they call it rugged, on the Ford they call it cheap. Go figure!

Took my girl for a nice long road trip to gulf shores, Al and she was very comfortable. Always had F150's till this year for this trip. Great gas mileage both going down and back home.
She did her job when some jack wagons decided to have a road rage confrontation on 264 in Kentucky and she slowed down quickly and I had to take over and hope the car behind me wasn't going to smack me from behind :crying:

Overall a very comfortable trip and very impressed with her. I am very glad I switched to a midsize truck and don't miss my big truck a bit. I made adjustments for compartment storage issues and it all worked out very smoothly :like:

All of these complaints are valid, but one curious like, at least for me, is the driver's seat. I have a bad back and the adjustable lumbar "support" when the seat was new was the most painful thing I've ever sat on. I hated it so much I almost sold the truck and I figured out why test drives are so short. I finally had to do major surgery on the torture griddle and after that all was well.

One of the only things that I dislike about the tech/interior is the fact that I have to UNPLUG my iPhone when using CarPlay in order to mess with anything else that requires the infotainment system. I wish that there was a way to exit CarPlay and go back in without unplugging.

Press the Sync app in Carplay and it will return to Ford Sync, at least most of the way anyway.

I have the Sync button first in my list so that it is always on the first screen when I swipe left or press the split screen button on the bottom left.

The one thing it WON'T do is use the Ford voice recognition so you can't use the voice commands for temperature and such. When I ask Siri to change the temperature she just gives me attitude. I think she's trying to remind me of an old girlfriend "I'm not sure what you're looking for."

If you have a smartphone connected Sync will use the smartphone assistant, ie, Siri or Google Assistant.

My complaints are with the layout and angle of the climate controls. The dash tapers down and away from the driver slightly which requires extra attention trying to see the controls. It's almost like they designed it for your face to be at the height of the armrest....because that's where my head ends up anyway. Plus I'm trying to drive. I end up going to the touch screen climate controls which I don't always like to use.

I'm sure others have mentioned it, my only gripe is all the buttons are smooth, so adjusting the A/C requires eyes off the road. Even worse, they don't illuminate at night. I've never quite gotten use to the fact I can switch to the hvac screen on the monitor to do these.
