The Motorcraft FL-2123 is an OEM equivalent part from a different manufacturer. It's a substitute for the FL400, FL500, and FL910. I found this bulletin from Motorcraft which spells it out. They are only available in 12 count cases for the service market.

I don’t want to get into a remarkably long debate but curious what you guys will be running. For the last decade I’ve run a Mobil1 Full Sythetic in my vehicles. At the 6,000mi interval I change the oil, I haven’t found sludge or anything to suggest the oil had broken down enough to harm my engines. I used to run the Motorcraft parasynthetic oil but it required a shorter change interval (I found it to be 4,000mi or less). And with these Ecoboost engines there has been great debate regarding the best oil; regarding fuel blowing past the piston rings into the crankcase, diluting non-synthetic oil, and the fuel/oil/air mix finding its way back up the crankcase breather tube, into the air intake, and baking onto the intake valves closest to where this recycled air enters the air intake.

Eventually there will be many options for air/oil separators (aka “oil catch cans”) for the Ranger, but in the meantime I’d like to run a synthetic that will reduce the deposits being left on my valves.
Hey guys, I haven't been on here in a while. I want to introduce myself to any new guys

Hey guys, haven't been on here in a while. Actually I'd like to introduce myself to any new guys reading this. My name is Doug Magee and I go by Doogie. I've got a 2020 Ranger Lariat 2wD. Dealer told me it was a 4x4 but a story for another day.
Randy 2400h, to finally answer your question lol. I run mobil one in my bike, but in my truck the dealer does it so cheaply I let them do it. It's Motorcraft 5w30. Simi syn thetic $50

When you open up the case-

Post a few pics with measurements or side-by-side comparison with FL400 & FL910

Curious about going this route... especially if its way cheaper by-da-case...

Thanks

The 910 is a mm or two taller and wider, and appears to be a little sturdier construction. Otherwise, they are the same. The 2123 is a Ford Motorcraft authorized service replacement for the 910. I have no problem using it and saving by the case.

So it's even smaller than the Dixie Cup-sized FL-910S?
I'll keep on using the FL-400S as long as they make them.

Very interesting. Admittedly having little knowledge of oil filters - the FL-400S and FL-910S seem to have the familiar WIX-style filter openings at the top with the reddish interior and the 2123-B12 seems to be a different design.

Wonder if the micron specs, flow rate etc. Are the same?

But like you, I have zero issues buying a case if it works. Same filter goes on my ST. Wonder if these would fit that?

My first oil change after purchase, 14114 miles. Had 13k on it when purchased. I use Mobile One full synthetic, always have.
