State inspection. Shockingly at 87,000 miles the OE front brakes still passed.
I've never had a vehicle that got more 45k out the front brakes in hilly Pennsylvania.

The Ranger took Dad and I to the Cleveland History Museum, formerly known as the Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum.

Feature display was Mustangs. Nice winter storage for a bunch of cars.
1000001162.jpg

Dad talked about seeing the Cleveland air races back in the day from and aunt and uncles house that was nearby. Interesting to hear about since I grew up just a mile from the airport and have the hearing loss to prove it. The Cleveland Municipal Airport (now Hopkins) was the largest in the country around the time of the air races.
1000001167.jpg

Our house would have been about where the word "history" is in the 4th paragraph. It was build in the 50's after the air races concluded. Sidenote - we did have a small plane crash less than a mile from us, had to be in the mid 70's. Lights blinked while we were eating dinner but otherwise we didn't know it happened.
1000001166.jpg

Jimmy Doolittles P51 "Second Fiddle" bought as surplus and modified for the air races.
1000001168.jpg

Gondola from The Blimp. Akron, home of Goodyear is just down the road.
1000001169.jpg

Of course any history of Cleveland needs to include Sohio and Rockefeller.
A horse drawn oil tanker. Think about it.

1000001163.jpg

Map of auto manufacturers around the Cleveland area. Cleveland had many auto manufacturers at one time. There were a fair amount of cars on display from some of them.
1000001171.jpg

Got wood? Not that fake plastic or vinyl stuff but real wood like on this Chrysler.
1000001176.jpg

Love the look of old engines when the manufacturers took pride in their looks and didn't hide them under plastic and foam covers.
1000001183.jpg

Who needs paint? The rare stainless steel Ford collection still intact at the museum.
1000001192.jpg

Was this the start of tailgates? And on a Cadillac...
1000001202.jpg

Need an engineering degree to work all the pedals, dials and levers on this steam powered White Sewing Machine Company car.
1000001215.jpg

Need to bring back brass on cars.
1000001216.jpg

There were a small number of bikes on display, including one from the Cleveland Motorcycle Company and this one. Jim Kelly's Hall of Fame bike built by Robbie Knievel and signed by football 'hall of famers'. Canton Football Hall of Fame is just down the road too.
1000001174.jpg

And finally, the mascot from old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. They'll always be the Indians to me.
1000001160.jpg

Dad and I love going to car museums and its been a few years since we've been to one, and quite a few years since we've been to the one in our own backyard. The collection is a shell of what it used to be when it was the Crawford with many cars sold off to support the overall historical organization which wasn't responsibly managed. Overall a great way to spend a Friday.
If you are in the area, definitely should be a stop on your list.

I was looking at that and thinking that really looks like a 1966 based on the grill, just a little different than my old 67 Continentals I owned.

Did the state inspection in the morning on Friday.
Dealer had a 6G and a Maverick to look at while waiting.

They’ve grown on me but I still prefer my 5G. The bed layout is nice and they seem to have all 6 tiedowns factory now.
IMG_1466.jpeg

Later in the day, I set off to haul an architectural model of North Station in Boston. Made the 50 mile trip without any movement in the load. I think I’ll consider people not scurrying to switch lanes from behind me a complement …
IMG_1494.jpeg

Model loaded and set on moving blankets.
IMG_1489.jpeg

Wrapped and strapped down for the ride. 3x 1,100lb WLL straps from TSC (sold in set of 4). Made use of all 6 tie down points.

Pretty eventful Friday off of work. Guess I can sorta say I hauled a subway station 50 miles with my Ranger.

Packed it up for a North Carolina road trip. Going to get my geek on. Attending a 3 day metal detecting event at 4 old plantations in North East NC. Been detecting on and off since 1976.

Heading out the door in 8 hours. Good night ?

Made a boring GoPro video trying to get Spooly Boy noises.....realized I suck at this and I need a Wind Sock for my gopro...

My GoPro Needs a Wind Sock :(
Do you own an external mic and adapter for your GoPro?
If so - You could 3M a microphone to the back of the engine bay or to your airbox and that should capture the sounds you want... May even be able to skip the windsock entirely that way.

I do not, if I feel like it in the future definitely look into that. Ive done the windsock on my Taurus SHO in a similar setup and it worked fine.

Temps finally got above 50* and it was sunny today.
Random teenager walking down my street as I’m waxing my truck:
“Sir, you’ve got the cleanest truck in Pittsburgh.”
Me: “Thanks man, I do my best.”
