I realized that as much as I love the Ranger, it's never going to be or do what I really love which is crawling over rocks with ease and efficiency and getting to places very few people can get to (without hiking of course). I also struggled with the transmission-stock, multiple tunes, etc. No matter what I did the harsh shifts returned after the relearn process. Dealer was no help.

Here she was on one of our last days:

Tom Woods Driveshaft - SOLD

Shrockworks Rock Sliders - SOLD

You're all a great group of guys and gals and I'll still lurk on here to make sure @AzScorpion is still cursing me over Unleashed.

Take care and I wish you all the best.

NIce,
I'm either going back to a Tacoma or Gladiator with my next ride.
All I saw in my 3 weeks out west was Jeeps or Toyotas.

Because I truly don't know the answer, or why, can the Jeep actually go places the Ranger cant?

Good luck with the new Jeep. I hope you enjoy it and have some great off road adventures with it! No worries I never cursed you or anyone over my troubles with Unleashed, it is what it is. ?

A few reasons, some of which are my own issue:
- Departure angle (the bed sticks out quite a bit past the rear wheels)
- Front locker
- Water fording depth (Why Ford!? with the alternator)
- IFS (like butter on the road, but will never be as good at traversing rocks as a SFA vehicle)
- And honestly I was always afraid of scratching, denting, or damaging the Ranger in some way off-road and it was just too damn good-looking to risk it ?

Friday yet?

Congrats on the new ride. Its one of the only things I consider trading the Ranger on.

Jeep is like Barbie, there is always an accessory for occasion. The Ranger is great, but modifications are tricky.

I had a 2012 Kawasaki Nomad and, when I wanted taller bars (read: Ape Hangers) I had to buy bars for a Harley, custom risers, custom brakes lines, and I had to extend all of the electrical cables manually. Then my windshield didn't fit correctly, so I had to modify that. When I traded the Nomad on my Street Glide, I bought a kit that had everything already in it, and it included wiring extensions with connectors that plugged in. That's kind of like the Ranger and a Wrangler.

The Ranger is one helluva rig, but the Jeep will always be better at the harder trails.

Wow - sorry to see your Ranger retire. I’m just glad that your new Jeep isn’t a Gladiator.

Enjoy the new ride!

I've been test driving Jeep's as well. Drove a Gladiator and a Wrangler, both in Rubicon trim. Now I have the fever.
