Lying is not a good idea, for a number of reasons...Always say your towing a Miata, works everytime and full send.
Sounds accurate to me.I’m having trouble believing the trailer empty weighs 2210lbs.
Rent a U-Haul truck to tow the trailer- that's what we did when we moved to Texas...
All uhaul cares about is there liability much insurance covers the trailer and both vehicles I’ve towed, so uhaul doesn’t concern me.Lying is not a good idea, for a number of reasons...
I had no idea they weighed that much.Sounds accurate to me.
I think this is the problem. I didn’t realize how light the Rangers are. I may need to come up with another solution i.e tow it 2 down.This.
It's not like they follow you after you pick up the trailer to see what you're putting on it.

Also, OP, perhaps they denied you because of this.
Google says a '72 F-100 comes in @ 4450 lbs. Which means tow vehicle must weigh 5328 lbs to meet their standard. The heaviest Rangers are about 4500 lbs according to google.
Earlier it was suggested that renting a U-Haul truck and the car hauler might be the way to go.I think this is the problem. I didn’t realize how light the Rangers are. I may need to come up with another solution i.e tow it 2 down.
Thing that is stopping you from getting a U-haul is the width of the truck. Not the weight. The Auto transport and tow dolly are designes for midsize and compact vehicles. The F-100 is a full size and will not fit. That is the issue.I think this is the problem. I didn’t realize how light the Rangers are. I may need to come up with another solution i.e tow it 2 down.
A 1972 F100 has a total width of 60.4 inches according to Ford.The

I can see this being the hot tip. Put it on a dolly if they'll let you rent that.I think this is the problem. I didn’t realize how light the Rangers are. I may need to come up with another solution i.e tow it 2 down.
